foxfanazer Posted 1 December 2019 Posted 1 December 2019 If my maths is correct (it's probably isn't) our current points to game ratio would see us amass 86 points if it stayed the same until the end of the season. That's 5 more than the 81 (quick maths) we accrued in 15/16. Do we think we could beat that points total this season? The sad thing is it probably wouldn't be enough to win it again I know this is massively premature but I'm buzzing with our current form
David Hankey Posted 1 December 2019 Posted 1 December 2019 Long way to go but on current form we will sail by the total we achieved in our title winning season. Let's hope a home win on Boxing Day will start a Liverpool slump.
bovril Posted 1 December 2019 Posted 1 December 2019 I think we'll get to just under 80, which the last three seasons would have got us 3rd and automatic CL qualification.
shailen Posted 1 December 2019 Posted 1 December 2019 I think we are playing better and are in more control then we were in 15/16. 15/16 felt way more frantic and a lot of games didn't feel as comfortable as some have felt this season (excl. today ofc) The problem we have this season is that we have a highly motivated Liverpool team to catch who badly want to win the league. Nevertheless, I am confident that they will drop points and hopefully we will be able to capitalise. I am confident that we will beat our points total from the 15/16 season, but sadly I think we will need to beat it by a large margin to have a chance of winning the league again.
MPH Posted 1 December 2019 Posted 1 December 2019 i think we could get more points but finish 2nd- 3rd..

Guest foxestalkisfullofidiots Posted 1 December 2019 Posted 1 December 2019 32 pts from 14 games would be good enough to take you top in La Liga and Bundesliga, the fact Liverpool are doing so well really takes the focus off how well we doing points wise.

Definitely helps that we are not being taken more seriously as title contenders, but more domestic points than Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern....1 pt behind PSG
Gamble92 Posted 2 December 2019 Posted 2 December 2019 I'm trying to work out how gutted id be if we did and missed out on a 2nd title. I Kind of feel like if we were to win it this season with Liverpool as good as they are, it might be seen as an even bigger achievement? Theyd certainly be none of the disgruntled comments about no other team being any good like the season we won it.
