ozleicester Posted 28 January 2020 Posted 28 January 2020 If you are still on 7 and want to upgrade you can do it here legally. Microsoft have dropped support for 7... so its a good time. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10?OCID=AID2000142_aff_7593_1243925&epi=0JlRymcP1YU-x89rTqLe5sIkmSGh0BBT.g&irgwc=1&ranEAID=0JlRymcP1YU&ranMID=24542&ranSiteID=0JlRymcP1YU-x89rTqLe5sIkmSGh0BBT.g&tduid=(ir__b261uqmanokfr0mw0h0nh3m2kv2
red5 Posted 28 January 2020 Posted 28 January 2020 Only free if you have a key, it's always been legal to do it this way, I've done loads.
Fox92 Posted 28 January 2020 Posted 28 January 2020 It's only free as un "upgrade" ie if you have a licence key. Not an actual "free download". I only thought the other day they seemed to drop support for Windows 7 quickly.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 30 January 2020 Posted 30 January 2020 Which is a terrible shame. Since 7 is so much better than 10. 10 gave you lots of features Microsoft wanted you to have, whilst removing ones that worked really well. Lack of Movie Maker is a glaring standout for me, as is Windows Media Player. Windows Music just sucks and the first thing I did was install WMP... though it doesn't seem to work so well as it did on other platforms.
The Syrup Posted 31 January 2020 Posted 31 January 2020 7 is loads better than 10. I got so annoyed with Windows 10 I ended up ditching it and installing Linux. Never looked back, although admittedly Linux won't be suitable for everyone. Does everything I need though.
red5 Posted 31 January 2020 Posted 31 January 2020 Nothing wrong with 10, it's on millions around the world and I've installed loads of them, problems are usually when on an older machine and not all drivers work well.

Not even remotely. 10 slaps 7 back to the Stone age performance wise. And the reality is that's all that should matter. Plenty of free movie maker apps available, and media players, to make the lack of a Windows one moot.

Well if you want Microsoft to control your PC, rather than yourself...
