Allows Ricci and Ben to supply width and Harvey and Ayoze to play more centrally . JJ can cover both wingback sides. That would mean a dedicated wide playing forward would not be so important. Who drops out from Maddison, Barnes and Perez in that system? At a time when our wingers/inside forwards are finally playing well in tandem I wouldn't want either being dropped but there's also an argument Iheanacho should be starting too with Vardy.

cruzFOX Posted 3 February 2020 Posted 3 February 2020 Hypothetically speaking; who would we/could we buy of quality in the summer that is a traditional winger?

It's just a case of knowing when to stick or twist with him in games.
AKCJ Posted 3 February 2020 Posted 3 February 2020 His touch is getting better and better. There was one lovely little spin to get away from Azpilicueta (Kovacicc ended up getting booked by fouling him) that was absolutely sublime. He's having a quietly very good time. Interesting that he and Barnes have both picked up in and around the transfer window when every City fan was screaming for a new winger.

Given the number of matches next season , there will have to be rotation with Maddison, Praet, Tielemans Hamza and Perez. We definitely need another striker so it will also mean using Vardy, Barnes , Iheanacho and one other to best effect.

Absolutely, it's just if we go 3-4-3 with Barnes and Perez either side of Vardy or Iheanacho then does Maddison join Ndidi in the central pairing or Tielemans? I'd imagine it would be one of Barnes or Perez dropping out of that system and it being a 3-4-1-2 but right now I think we are finding our rhythm again in the 4-1-4-1 that saw the majority of our best football from September to December.
Dan Posted 3 February 2020 Posted 3 February 2020 Just occurred that Bennett can't even play until 22nd February
