CUJimmy Posted 2 February 2020 Posted 2 February 2020 Bit of an implication in the article that cost is an issue. Maybe once our new training centre is up and running it could move here. We get first dibs on the talent though.
ElusiveEd Posted 2 February 2020 Author Posted 2 February 2020 Always had a feeling, given as the owners/management was kept "In house" with it being Rebekah and his agent on the books., that it was a tax efficient way of keeping a sizeable chunk of his earnings within.

Lots of professional sportspeople do similar things. Golfers are a great example. There will be tax advantages but I like to think most are doing it as a way to put something back into a sport that has been very good to them.

It wasn’t. It was replicating the same thing which happens season after season but making it all go through one agent
adejo92 Posted 2 February 2020 Posted 2 February 2020 Shame, there's some decent Sunday League kids out there for our No. 1 replacement.
Chrysalis Posted 2 February 2020 Posted 2 February 2020 Not long after the child was born this pops up. I kind of go with the tax reduction and funnelling players through agent idea. If his heart was 100% in it and was no financial incentive I expect they would have found a way. But also don't be surprised if a late investment happens following this story and the cancellation gets cancelled.
