Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha provides the enthusiasm, support and realism that gives Brendan Rodgers confidence as the club’s manager.

Better known as ‘Top’, the chairman visited Rodgers and the City squad during their training session on Thursday.

Top and Rodgers had a brief conversation at Belvoir Drive and the City boss raved about his boss afterwards.

“We had a nice chat but it was quite short,” Rodgers said. “It was great to see him.

“He's fantastic and a great lover of the club.

“He sampled his worst weather on Thursday! Cold and hailstones and windy and wet. But the minute he lands over here, he loves it.

“He’s very positive, and this is the beauty of him. He’s very realistic with where the club is at, he knows the financial differences of the club, but so supportive in every way in how we work and as a manager it gives you great confidence to work that way.”

Rodgers said Top’s realism runs through the club as they bid to not only finish inside the top four this season, but maintain a standing inside the top six for years to come.

“The beauty of Leicester is that there is realism around,” added Rodgers.

“I always felt at the beginning of the season, when everyone was talking about the run we were on, it’s catapulted them into an area where people are looking at them slightly differently.

“But that's what we want, we want to be up there challenging. Yes, we don't have the resources of those teams that are supposed to be up there, but we want to find a way, through good coaching and management, and developing players.

“If we can do that, step by step, then we can grow.

“I always said that my job here was to take the team from where they were, in that mid-section of the table, and take them into the top six. That was my challenge, and it's a big challenge, but it was one that excited me.

“I've been really pleased with the adaption of the players. When I came in towards the end of February, the feeling around everything – the team and Khun Vichai – it was hard for everyone.

“What we've tried to do is create an environment where we can use Khun Vichai's legacy to really propel the club forward in a positive way. We then have a team that we enjoy watching, are an aggressive team and a team that attacks.

“There is still a long way to go because we want to be able to arrive in that top six. Can we do that? Could we bridge that gap? And if we can do that this season it will be an amazing start for us. Then can we keep pushing on.”

I believe it aint so much the Topic headline,but the interest & exchanging of ideas on targets and ambitions.

I cant see anybody denying or putting any argument ,on what we the fans think of Top,family and the board.

putting it out there for outside sceptics (the followers,media,& leaning on the positives)  & also showing the fans,there is a togetherness at the club und what expectations & ambitions there are.

 

many fans bleat on,that there is little from their Management in Clubs direction,at least with ours we see,hear  and have stated progress...
