Hahaha no problem, however, he did answer that very question.

If I give you the answer will you listen anyway? It was his daughter who made him!

Have been enjoying these podcasts on my hourly bike ride, so keep them coming! I’m looking forwards to Ian Walker & Richie Wellens.

Would be really interesting to finish each podcast with the guests best LCFC XI or maybe 5 a side team along with some quick fire questions such as best trainer, worst trainer etc similar to the soccer am teammates feature.

Keep up the good work!

That’s a really good shout actually, thank you for that. I’m recording with Ian Walker tomorrow so I will get that implemented. Glad to hear you are enjoying and really appreciate the feedback! Anymore ideas just let me know!

Enjoying these a lot mate great listens 👍

Would love to hear Nugent on 1 of these one day, similar to Hammond leaving just before the title winning season. Be interesting to hear his point of view.

Thank you mate, glad to hear that! Unfortunately Preston are not allowing any of their players to do anything at the minute, one of my mates plays up there. Hoping when we get back in to the swing of things I may get a bit more success!

Couple of things:

1) The Grayson podcast is up for anyone after a listen

2) Guest #8 is Paul Konchesky so if anyone has any questions, please send them over 👊🏻

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

..just listened to the Grayson podcast!!!

It is quite noticeable that you have changed your style with your interaction with your subject. Your questions directed to Piper was as if you have a list of questions you had to go through and when his response covers a subject on your list to ask but you had not got around to asking as yet, you would then ask the question even though it had already been answered. It was as if you were not listening to the interviewee and for me, it was frustrating to listen to.

Now you pick up from what your subject has said and allow him to elaborate which gives a better feel of continuity. The Piper story I had heard about previously and as he was recanting his feelings when Micky Adams had insisted that he agreed to the move to Sunderland for the sake of the club and staff members, Pipes then went to speak to Elliot and Walsh on the training pitch and tearfully wanted some help with his decision as he did not want to leave. This was a pivotal moment and you changed the subject which you could feel had caught Piper off guard,

I am not sure how long you have been in the interviewers chair but I have now listened to three interviews and they are getting much better .

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate all the feedback, the Piper one was the 3rd one I’d ever done, Grayson 7th haha! Never done anything like this before so it’s very much a case of learning as we go! In all honesty, that’s why I am hugely grateful for any feedback I get! If you did want to really analyse it, I’d be more than happy to take any criticism and use it positively!

Just finished off the Grayson podcast. Good listen. Interesting that he still visits, has friends in Leicester etc, players from that era/team (the likes of Izzet, Walsh, Taggart, Marshall, Elliott etc) obviously all still close and all look back at their time at the club really fondly. It's great to hear.

But nothing ever came of him to manage here though. I do remember the rumours at the time like Grayson mentioned, hence I wanted you to clarify that one.

I know it's not the theme of the thread, but I couldn't stand konchesky playing for us. I didn't rate him.one little bit after I saw zaha rip him a new one. Even tho zaha was a complete handful, an experienced pro should ever have let a kid embarrass him on the pitch.  A classic Sven signing a 'name' on big money.

Yet remarkably he lingered on under Pearson. And it very nearly cost us.

He got himself sent off away at Hull when we were so so desperate for the points. Criminal. And gave away a needless penalty away at Burnley when again, it was absolutely vital concentration was needed and he was half asleep. As a senior pro drafted in in such crucial gamrsy, shocking.

Think it just reiterates the close knit nature of that team doesn’t it! An awful lot of them still get on really well!

Yeah, he didn’t really reveal an awful lot so unsure how much there was in it at the time!

It’s an interesting argument in all honesty and you are quite right, there are some big moments there that didn’t go the right way. Jeff played a lot of games towards the second half of the 14/15 season didn’t he.

Think you're being harsh tbf. He contributed a lot to the club, especially under Pearson when we were going for promotion (and indeed won the title).

He got sent off at Hull, yeah, which you describe as "criminal" but it was about the 90th minute. We won the game anyway so that's irrelevant now.

We could all pick bits out on players. Not every player is superb every game.

Yeah I do agree, I liked Konch tbf, think he added a decent amount to the squad. Was just a touch unlucky that Fuchs came in and he was the absolute model pro!
