Alright.

This is a niche thread, really, but sod it, I'm running with it.

Other than you people who are younger than me, which is a lot of you, I reckon we've all had a few crap cars and put in a tape and its got stuck in there forever and a day. You have the choice of radio (depending on your aerial) or the tape stuck in there.

This happened to me twice with my first car, with The Fureys - Finest, being stuck in my 1996 Fiesta for a good while, before it was somehow persuaded out, only for Bonnie Tyler's seminal classic 'Faster Than The Speed of Night' to take up residence in there for the rest of its life. In fact, I say life, it might still be in there. I sold the car with Bonnie still in there. I now have a dog called Bonnie. I wonder if these two events are linked? The tape was also a bit warped so the title track sounded a bit terrible (no jokes)

More recently, my 6 cd changer (showing off) in my jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag (showing off) has busted and all 6 disks are stuck in. You also can't select radio. Its the 6 cds, a tape (don't have any now) or the 6 CDs. Those are a mixture of Prince , Dire Straits (its a jag), Dylan, The Eagles, Everclear (not sure why either) and Leonard Cohen.

What are yours?

If this gets even one decent reply I'll be surprised.

I had Forever Delayed - Manics Greatest Hits stuck in my Land Rover for years! Stopped buying CD's a long time ago so this one kind of just stayed there. Usually listen to the radio in the car but would occasionally stick it on. My kids used to love it - my little boy when he was a toddler used to demand "Tsunami" over and over again!

This has happened to me twice. Can't recall if tape or CD but the first was REM - Automatic for the people and the other was Shed Seven - A Maximum High.

Can't remember the years or the cars though!

Random thread - love it

I keep about 5 CDs in the car at any one time and swap them about every 2 weeks, this is on rotation at the minute

Had a good listen to this and Dreamt for Light Years.... yesterday. You need something as a backdrop to the monotony of underwriting. There's a certain irony to 'its a wonderful life' droning away in the background whilst you make the third successive change to a policy on which your income is about £3.

Just after leaving school in 1992, I spent a summer driving around with 'Happiness' by The Beloved stuck on repeat in my Triumph Acclaim. Brilliant album, brilliant car, brilliant summer.

The car wasn't that brilliant but as it was my first, I thought it was amazing.

Don't they say that every car in the UK has Queen's Greatest Hits II in the glovebox? I think its a fact that if you leave any CD in a car long enough then that's what it will morph into.
