The last few weeks watching on TV I have noticed that the pitches around the league are really cutting up and looking poor quality, even the KP was looking ropey in sections, wonder is there a reason for it ? I know it’s been wet recently but these pitches have amazing drainage, any green keepers on the forum ?

The pitches look ok to me. But then I grew up watching football in the 80's when games weren't played on a beautifully manicured putting green. By this time of year places like The Dell and Maine Road didn't have a blade of grass to be seen anywhere.

Don’t forget many pitches usually get dug up and relayed across the summer break.

With the turn around in seasons this didn’t happen this season. So obviously a few more are in worse shape than they usually are at this stage of the season.
