I know that you can derive whatever you like from a selective batch of data, but this may not represent the true picture. 
 

Our first season in the Premier League we were poor for most of it. Vardy was still adjusting to stepping up to another level. If this data includes that season it may not reflect his true value since 15/16.

 

But, as I say, that’s why they call it lies, damned lies and statistics

Right now, Rodgers is building a team that isn’t leaning too much on Vardy... you can see it in how we play, Barnes Tielemans and Maddison all chipping in. Sure you need that striker to add that extra dimension but we aren’t terrible without Vardy we still are a threat

I feel we are better now without him then at anytime... hard to tell though because we clearly haven’t seen it much. But looking at the quality we have in comparison to before you can certainly argue we will do okay for a few games

Yes, his cessation of playing for England when he did after the WC in 2016 through his own de-selection helped further his brilliant career to date with us for at least a few more years thereafter - as is still the case, despite his latest setback! Obviously time will most likely start catching up with him over the next season or two now as he nears his mid 30s I fear, especially being a striker and target man - with his counter attacking style of play in the main, the nature of his runs off the ball that will invite injury : but I guess we've been at this juncture of Vardy longevity debate before and he still continues to weigh in with 20 goals per season!! Amazing, especially after nearly nine years of being with us now! Best £1million the club have ever spent, looking back to 2012!
