SouthStandUpperTier Posted 11 August 2021 Posted 11 August 2021 Hopefully he is a decent bloke, but I'm sorry I just can't stick his commentary style. It takes me a good few hours to uncurl my toes after listening to him.
HighPeakFox Posted 11 August 2021 Posted 11 August 2021 7 pages on someone who boils your collective piss? Well played.
Popular Post Tim'llFixIt Posted 11 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 11 August 2021 Steady on chaps, some of the stuff here I'm reading is witch hunt material. The guy might grate on some of you but we can't really knock him for oozing passion for Leicester always bigging up the team, owners and fans this much can we. Just wanna say that over the years he has mentioned mental health a lot and really encouraged people to come forward and speak up if they are struggling as well as helping tonnes of local charitable causes. The guy isn't the "Twat" you make him out to be. Also the fella more than Likely browses this forum for both his job and his love of the city ... Imagine how the poor bastard feels reading this thread back. Long story short, grow up your bitter, miserable, negative fvuckers and if your reading this Ian, your dad jokes are a bit crap sometimes but I still love ya! 10
TJB-fox Posted 11 August 2021 Posted 11 August 2021 Bloody hell chaps, some strong words in here. He’s not my cup of tea and I don’t listen to his commentary but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a twat

I like him. ....it was Neville Folger, then Sinclair had a stint, then he left, then Stringer took over!!! I miss not listening to Nev, enjoyed his commentary and Sinclair had a task to follow him. A friend of mine has become an ardent Leicester City follower due to Stringer's commentary (he loves his exuberance whilst commentating) and my interest in the team. We go down together and just as he was getting into going down the Pandemic hit. Not keen to go down at the moment, but sure sometime down the line we will get back down there.
Mike Oxlong Posted 11 August 2021 Posted 11 August 2021 Ian on Ian https://www.ianstringer.co.uk/about-me/ Love this bit - pure Partridge I was never of standard to play football at a professional level, this I realised in my late teens. My dreams turned to being paid to watch the game. I’m living my dream.

Anyway the newsreader, who regularly is RL man, says "here is the news for East Midlands" & spent more time talking about events in Nottingham than Leicester & the sports news only featured news about Forest. He then handed back to the presenter called Jack (again truly awful), who I know has been on RL. He proceeds to say that his show is covering all the East Midlands & that within the next 1/2 hour would be previewing Forest's home game tonight & speaking to their fans about attending a game again. With all the cutbacks the BBC are making it makes me wonder if RL will have to cover all the East Midlands teams (similar to East Midlands Today). This would obviously be most unsatisfactory. Noticed this driving home yesterday. Seems to be most shows are presented by the regular Radio Leicester presenters but covering Nottingham too. They were talking about Mansfield Town for about 5 minutes!

What proper fan says "Foxes" ? Foxes is a baby name, the sort 7 years olds use. Was saying this earlier. Going down the city on saturday, watching the city, looking forward to seeing the city. never just city (that's any old city. Norwich? Manchester?). My team is THE City. and never foxes (or filberts)
