what most impressed me was his long passing, aint knew he had that in his repitoire. fair play lad. better than vestergaard back there.

...a different player than what has previously been witnessed away from the "action man" role!!!

I said previously, that is not how he plays, and it is good to see him playing in a way that suits his ability. Only one game though, let us see if Rodgers will change the way we use him, definitely is not a red card waiting to happen, he never was.

Nathan ake is 5.11, he’s not too bad a defender

Carlos Puyol is a similar size , he. was rarely beaten in the air or on the ground. Why? He was extraordinarily clever. If Hamza can demonstrate that sort of intelligence then he can really make a name for himself.

I still question how well he will do against better opponent in that position. That's not to say his first ever match in that position wasn't excellent, though.

He's pushing against an open door if he wants to improve and start playing centre half more often. I'd like to see him there.

Watching him in midfield, he seems to be chasing the game. When he does intercept, he's very effective. He has a languid style of play - maybe more suited to Italian football.

He's technically good as well - he can pass accurately and knows how to use the aerodynamic qualities of the ball.

Playing in central defence precludes that wandering aspect of his play. It also reduces the effect of his tendency to 'stroll'.

Height isn't so significant - as has been stated, a player's springing ability and positioning can compensate for comparative lack of height.

Whether he can become an effective member of the central defence consistently is another thing. With the depletion of CBs he may have an opportunity to develop in that rôle, but I can't see him usurping any of the regulars.

He's always running about. It positional sense seems to be the most lacking. If he sticks around, which he seems to want to, and concentrates on that position, he'll see playing time I think. Fofana, Soyuncu and Evans won't be around forever.

Wouldn't mind him getting a run out at CB or RB against Randers.

He's got the pace and pressing game that Rodgers demands of his defenders, and good in the air. I think he'd also be more determined and combative in defending set pieces compared to the likes of Amartey and Vestergaard.
