Transfermarkt show Hamza as being 1.78 m tall (5ft 8ins ) Surely not tall enough to play CB against teams that pose an aerial threat.

1.78m is definitely nearly 6ft.

His hair will make him 1.85m anyway

More than pleased for Hamza. Some of the nonsense people have been prepared to spout about him over recent months has been borderline embarrassing.

Hamza done ok yesterday but Watford made it easy for him. It was a nice respectable game of football between two teams playing very fair.

Watford never put him under pressure by putting someone up on him where he would have had to think and act quicker.

But you can only play those you are up against and in that case he done well snuffing out danger and making a few passes.

1.78m is 70 inches. 5'10". Not very tall for a CB, I agree.

The days for needing two tall centre backs as gone for me. How many teams play with two big tall strikers, very few. Someone with Hamza’s physique is far more suited these days to marking the top strikers than someone like Big Wes.

That depends, very few strikers these days have a decent technique in the air , no matter how tall they are. The days of Shearer and Sheringham are long gone. However somebody like Hamza could be exposed by a Calvert-Lewin or Wood. We need one tall CB and in truth tall players are needed in almost every team.

The pass out to Barnes on LW in the first half  Bloody hell Hamza, you’ve been played in the wrong position all this time.

I'm marginally taller than Hamza if that's true. Are there any successful centre backs at that height?

Edit: Nevermind, I just read up. Still, with our injuries we don't have the choice anyway. Need some other tall players in the team aside from Vester though.

Mascherano was only 1.74, he did OK.

Denis Law was the same height and could beat anybody in the air. He needs to train with the Riders and learn the basketball leap.

what most impressed me was his long passing, aint knew he had that in his repitoire. fair play lad. better than vestergaard back there.

A lot of Leicester fans wanted Ake before he went to Man City & Hamza is around the same height as him.

I can understand people's concern about Hamza's lack of height when it comes to set pieces. However I can see us trying to sign a couple tall players in the summer to help with defending corners, starting with De Ketelaere hopefully.
