Worthy of a thread of its own! 

 

Top work by the club getting so much of our young talent tied down. 

 

I think the club, as have we, noticed that this is a special group and big clubs will start swirling soon. Smart move to get the deals done before the FA youth cup puts a few teams on red alert to the great talent we have!

Great thread! Will be interesting to see how many of these players end up making the grade in the next few seasons. Anyone want to have a guess?

 

I think McAteer will go out on loan to the Championship next time round, and will be an exciting one to watch. He could easily be the next Barnes / KDH that forces his way into the first team, but it will depend on how he does. I can see Luton Town in his future!

Baybrooke and Nelson will go out on loan to League One, and will probably need a few seasons of that before coming back to the club. I think they will play for us at some point, and will be interesting to see how good they are wheh that happens.

Grist I've heard very good things about, but most likely it will be a few years before we see him get into first team contention.

Is it normal for so many to sign a pro contract at once? I thought it was usually a here and there kind of thing rather than in a batch like this?

If Sammy B can keep on the upward curve he’s shown I don’t think it’s a given that he goes on loan before getting a chance in and around the first team. There was strong rumours that Bundesliga teams were looking at him to go into that level and the only thing you can say about him is that physicality maybe an issue but with the role he plays in midfield it’s not the be all and end all if you put the likes of Ndidi/KDH around him.

I swear McAteer signed his last month before he went to Forest Green Rovers so unless he's then signed another a month later then some of these have probably been done ages ago.

I think Jacob Wakeling signed one before heading out on loan
