The 20-year-old has scored 10 goals in 24 Ligue 1 games for Lens this season in his second consecutive loan spell. Such form is said to have caught the attention of clubs across Europe, with Leicester and Newcastle the most advanced in their interest. Kalimuendo's contract at PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2024 and, despite his form, the chances of him breaking into the first team are slim. Mauricio Pochettino's men boast a ridiculous attacking line up which includes Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. A move to Leicester would make sense for the PSG youngster, who is also able to play on the wing as well as up front. That would suit Brendan Rodgers to a tee, as the manager loves players who are adaptable in the positions they can play. His age means he suits the Leicester profile much better than other players the club have been linked with in recent months, several of whom have been over the age of 26. According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Leicester face competition for his signature from Newcastle United - who of course boast fresh spending power after their £305 million takeover by a Saudi-led consortium back in November. This process is likely to heat up in the coming weeks as the player's agent reportedly has a meeting scheduled with the PSG hierarchy to discuss his future. It is unclear whether that meeting will result in a transfer request or a new contract offer. Situations like this - convincing players to join the club over rivals - is why winning the Europa Conference League is so important to Leicester City this season. It would mean qualification for the Europa League, and with that comes extra pulling power in the transfer market.
Stadt Posted 26 April 2022 Posted 26 April 2022 Only 20 but he doesn't profile amazingly with his stats https://fbref.com/en/players/bf4c41f9/Arnaud-Kalimuendo Especially compared to Ekitike who is younger (although he's purely a striker) https://fbref.com/en/players/5b92d896/Hugo-Ekitike Georginio Rutter is the forward/winger we should be looking at
-sodapop Posted 26 April 2022 Posted 26 April 2022 (edited) Don't particularly like this one. He has a quality about him, 10 goals in any top league whilst under 21 is obviously worth paying attention to, but I'm not sure the price PSG will demand (bear in mind, they're likely to get rid of Icardi soon, and with Mbappe also likely leaving they'll be very thin up front for what they're aiming to win) is the best way to spend our money. I suspect this one only has legs if we move Kelechi on. Edited 26 April 2022 by -sodapop
brookfox Posted 26 April 2022 Posted 26 April 2022 It's only April and I'm already bored of seeing "Leicester and Newcastle" in the same transfer rumour. Never thought I'd be looking back on the "Leicester, West Ham and Everton" days with such fondness. 3
Jordan Posted 26 April 2022 Posted 26 April 2022 This is the Merc pulling something from Foot Mercato, so I’m not going to get too far ahead of myself on this one.
davieG Posted 11 July 2022 Author Posted 11 July 2022 Paris Saint-Germain value forward Arnaud Kalimuendo at around €20 million, with the likes of Inter, Newcastle United, and Leicester City all interested in signing the Frenchman. This according to today’s print edition of French newspaper L’Equipe, who report that the Parisians have set the asking price for the young forward, with the Nerazzurri among the teams eyeing up a move for him.Kalimuendo has enjoyed two very positive loan spells at Ligue 1 side Lens over the past two seasons, helping them to two consecutive top half finishes in the French top flight.Newly-promoted Premier League team Nottingham Forest have had an offer rejected by the player, whilst the likes of Newcastle and Leicester are also interested in bringing him to England.Inter have been following Kalimuendo’s growth, and the 20-year-old has also come up in talks over a possible sale of Milan Skriniar to the French champions, although it remains to be seen whether he would possibly be included in a deal for the Slovakian. https://sempreinter.com/2022/07/11/psg-slap-e20m-price-tag-on-inter-newcastle-leicester-target-arnaud-kalimuendo-french-media-report/
LFox99 Posted 11 July 2022 Posted 11 July 2022 A right-footed forward, just what we need! We might as well have gone for CDK if we want this lad
Molson Canadian Posted 11 July 2022 Posted 11 July 2022 Leeds had a bid rejected of 17 Million apparently.
