Best Player From Managers

Just something I am curious of and it may need some of the older boys involved, but, out of all our managers ever, who was the best player?

 

is it basically Paulo Sousa and end thread?

Martin O’Neill was supposed to be fairly decent. Before my time though.

Frank McLintock was one of the best players of his era in English football and one of Leicester and Arsenal’s best ever players.

He was the enforcer in both our Ice Kings side and Arsenal’s double winning side.

 

Shame he ruined his reputation here with his disastrous spell as manager.

Sousa won the Champions League twice as a player, so can't really look beyond him to be honest.

But if we can include assistant managers, John Robertson was one hell of a player.

Just having a look and there’s a few in there. Puel, Sousa, O’Neil, Milne and McLintock at least on paper seem to be the ones with top careers. Sousa I think tops it by some way but that might just be recent bias.

Puel won a few trophies in France.
