Tommy Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 Ryan Smith of Arsenal currently on loan to Leicester City will stay at Leicester for the rest of season but will cost Leicester 2 or 3 million which the club cannot afford Linkage : Football Rumours Ok so its not the most reliable site in the world, but what does everyone think to this ? Milky Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 Linkage : Football Rumours Ok so its not the most reliable site in the world, but what does everyone think to this ? that is the sort of money smith is worth certainly. we can't afford him, wenger isn't stupid anyway. he knows smith is special and he knows smith is the future for arsenal and england. Manwell Pablo Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 Linkage : Football Rumours Ok so its not the most reliable site in the world, but what does everyone think to this ? Seems pretty much accurate to me. I would of expected him to stay until the end of the season, and I know we have the option to buy but it's not a option due to his price tag. Thracian Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 Linkage : Football Rumours Ok so its not the most reliable site in the world, but what does everyone think to this ? There's a hell of a difference between the two figures mentioned to our wallets. But if it were true - the potential to buy him I mean - then where there's a will there would probably be a way depending on when payment were needed. I still think it's a highly unlikely scenario for various reasons and his wages wouldn't come cheaply. Then again at least you'd be likely to get someone worth having for your money and, with the right approach to the team in general, he's the sort of guy who could put bums back on seats. Manwell Pablo Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 Sell rides round the seaside on anyone of our current strikers for £3 a go? Unfortuantley De Vries lacks the Balance and Hammond lacks the strength for this to be an option.
Foxes_Trust Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 whip-round anyone, sure we could raise that, eventually yeah right - between all City fans we managed £100k when the club nearly dis-appeared a couple of years ago dream on.... Arsenal aren't looking to sell, but with loans becoming ever popular, some longer term ones involve a fee as well picking up some/all of the wages
Nationwider Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 If he's a London lad, surely Charlton, Spurs, West Ham, Palace or Fulham will just swoop in and get him in due course?
Jonbluefox9 Posted 25 November 2005 Share Posted 25 November 2005 Even if we could afford to buy him who's to say he'd want to join us? If you'd been described as "the next Thierry Henry" or whatever Wenger called him, by the manager of a club in the Champions League why would you leave to join an average Championship club? And I don't think Wenger will let the next Henry go cheaply if at all.
