Collymore Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 I hate that program. Must have fecking Monkey's running it. That Mat Smith guy reminds me of Barber as well! Here’s the situation.... Reading and Sheff Utd both close at the top of the table, If one team loses, it could be the most significant result of the championship to date, add to that the fact there were 6 goals in ours … WTF is going on? The championship match highlight generator. Powered by Barber technology. Please enter the most exciting game of the day......Leicester City V Sheffield Utd. Please enter the most significant result of the day......Leicester City 4 V 2 Sheffield Utd. Please enter the game you know we should really be playing extended highlights of if we had not put all our eggs in one basket a full week before, in regards to filming at a specific fecking ground..................................................................Leicester City V Sheffield Utd. Please enter the ground that we have chosen to film at, like nobs........Luton Calculating.... Calculating.... Calculating.... Calculating.... Calculating.... Calculating.... Calculating.... The game we are forced to show is Luton V Crystal Palace. Thank you
Libertine Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 I think they choose the featured match before the games.
Collymore Posted 27 November 2005 Author Posted 27 November 2005 I think they choose the featured match before the games. I know, I'm saying it's a crap idea, at least on MOTD all the teams get an equal showing these day's. They should have flexibility to change to a more exciting game. Why the heck they feel the need to go and film down an empty fecking ground every week I’ll never know. I want to watch the most exciting football, not bloody Luton V CP I'd quite happily accept not showing a LC bore game if it meant showing us another day when we are on fire.

Anish Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 I doubt ITV have enough money to send out 3 camera men and one commentator to each Championship game, on the basis that one of the games will be a belter- and then show extended highlights of that game. Still, the Championship on ITV is shite - it makes it worse when they didn't even show replays of the goals either. And I don't even have Sky Sports News to make up for it

And I don't even have Sky Sports News to make up for it I think in this day and age, ITV should be more like the BBC and have a red button where you can choose which game you want extended highlights of. If your a TV channel & gonna bid for football, then do for the good of football not advertising. It's as if they can't wait to get to the adverts on The Championship. Feckers SkySports News, bless their soul, even leave the footy scores on during the adverts on Sat's. It's as if they've told companies, either have your advertisment with the Elgin score on their, or feck off , lords.
lush Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 I think they choose the featured match before the games. They do, and even then they chose to send a recognised commentator to our game, which didnt make much sense of them not showing more because 6 goals etc etc etc, but of course its the sheffield derby next week... You would think by now, what is it, the year 2005, we`d have a football programme showing atleast 5mins of every game. In commentary, the guy must`ve been munching on a tree or something, for he mentioned hume, just after the ball hits the net 1-0. Its as if he just didnt expect city to score, what a joke. Goal 2, after the ball has HIT the net, "and ryan smiths header has crept in", it went in easily, again not expecting city to score And NO excitement for either goal from a commentator who loves expressing his words. 3rd goal, finally he gets a tad excited expressing the word hammond, 3-1 to Leicester!. 4th goal, and he nearly gets carried away "its the first time sheff utd have conceeded 3 this season (humeeeeee scores), make that four, Ian Hume!"

Babylon Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 It's better than Chris Camara and pals on sky this morning. They spend more time laughing at each others jokes that are about as funny as a broken leg, than they do talking or showing games.

Louise Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 Speaking of rubbish coverage, the 'picture special' on the OS is very poor for such a game, no pictures of Hume scoring or celebrating, and most of the pictures they do have are too small etc.
Guest Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 To be honest, I don't expect any less from the media. We've never been fashionable or popular, and we never will be. Still, it's their loss.

Milky Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 To be fair to the programme they do show every single goal in the entire football league. people who support sides in the lower divisions don't often get such luxuries. i don't like the idea of picking a game before the play then featuring it for 20mins not matter how shit it is, but if they are on a budget i don't know what else they can do apart from picking and choosing. they also have to make sure that every team in the league is involved in some of these 20min features during the season to be fair to everyone, so naturally the best looking games aren't always going to be covered.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 Try this, there's a few pics on there. Good to see Iain Hume using the super sockatyes on one of those pics. They seem to be doing a good job.
Head Honcho Posted 27 November 2005 Posted 27 November 2005 Pre yesterday's game we were lucky to get a camera crew!
