Telegraph: "Four years on, the Brendan Rodgers formula is still Leicester City's best bet"

Me. And no.

This is what I meant when I was calling on local journalist's to ask the tough questions.

People's replied saying they would wanna upset the club or get banned from pressers, e.t.c. I'm sorry but if the journo's had asked the tough questions they'd have been heavily supported by the fanbase for it (See: Jason Bourne's grilling for example) and if the club were to ban them it wouldn't be a good look, they can't ban them all, there are obligatory media duties and banning them would simply look like Rodgers/The club were running and hiding.

Obviously there is a line, they have to be professional, they can't be vitriolic and just go all out on them, but come on, ask some tough questions of note, but some pressure on management and club.

I think the term is journalistic capture or similar.

Percy gained a lot of page views, interest, etc because of his close links to the club.

If he starts criticising the club then they cease to give him the info that gains him so many page views etc.

They'll never ban him, but starve him of the info he's become reliant on. We'd no longer use Percy as a benchmark for reliable info.

Largely journalists are either mouthpieces with very reliable info, or outsiders without such. I.e. Percy or Bourne.

Everyone loves a mouthpiece when times are good. But they aren't doing much proper journalism. And the outsider journalists start at a disadvantage.

I didn't mean the likes of Percy though.

I was talking more Leicester Mercury, Radio Leicester, the local ones.

As I say, they may or may not have got banned but if they did it wouldn't have been a good look on the clubs part and would probably lead to more questions from other sources.

I mean the wider media hadn't even acknowledged we were in the relegation battle until probably a couple of weeks ago.

I really doubt they'll get banned.

They're all probably trying to get in the club's good books, as Percy is, so they'll share some reliable info with them.

I doubt they'll share any of that with Bourne or anyone asking difficult questions.

I'd journalists are going to have their articles and videos shared back when they finally get something right, they have to be prepared to be shown up when they write absolute garbage like Percy did.

They're a smug, toxic profession anyway.
