Leicester City are in the mix to sign AS Roma’s Nicola Zalewski in the summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
 

The 21-year-old graduated from the Serie A side’s academy and has been a regular for them since last year.

 

Zalewski has drawn attention from the Premier League and the Bundesliga since last season, where his name has been ‘circled in red’. Leicester are the only club named when mentioning his suitors.

 

The left-back has a contract until 2025 and earns less than €500,000 annually. He has to ‘plan his own destiny’ after this season, while José Mourinho’s side would have to assess his situation [likely contractual] before making any decision on the Poland international’s future.
 

Gazzetta state Roma don’t intend to part ways with the player even though Leicester are looking at him. Therefore, it will be necessary for Roma to clarify his situation before the summer window reopens.

 

Over in Poland, WP SportoweFakty expert Tomasz Lipiński claims it’s difficult to see either Zalewski or Roma deciding to end their association after this season.

 

The defender has been urged to continue in Italy.

 

“It’s hard to imagine that he will want to leave himself, and that someone will want to sell him. Let’s remember that he went from the youth team to the first team really quickly. And at Roma it happens very rarely and that says something,” he said.

 

“We’ll see if José Mourinho stays at Roma next season. On the one hand, his departure would be a risk for Zalewski, because another coach could not bet on him so much. But also, a chance – with a new coach and a different system, there would be more hope for a different game.”

I think all 3 Belgians could leave, Castagne has suffered some bad injuries which is unfortunate. So I think now would we a good time to move him on and bring in a new face. We need a big shake up this Summer regardless of which league we are in.

Have heard he’s someone who isn’t a Rodgers fan too, if BR stays I can see him leaving!

If we are going for haise to replace rodgers defo go all out for him

Him kristiansen Ricardo Justin castagne can all play well as wingbacks which suits what haise wants to play

Pellegrini scored at home against us. But yeah Zalewski did look good. 

Maybe it’s a plan to get him in and loan Thomas out.

You're correct , Zalewski played a large part in it with a surging run down the East stand.

 

Thomas off the bench for England u21's tonight for 10minutes or so, didn't notice him much.
