Foxes Trust consider the issue of ticketing at Leicester City a year after its introduction of digital ticketing.

OF TICKETS AND TECHNOLOGY – Foxes Trust

Firstly, well done on communicating some of the work you’re doing. I hope this is the beginning of more visibility into what the Trust actually does and engaging on here as the biggest online community of LCFC fans.

One thing I would mention, however, is that I think you need to be clearer on who you stand for. In the article you reference your ‘members’ which have been speculated to be around the 300 mark (you’ve not offered any transparency here).

Compare and contrast with @Union FS comment above where they are taking a stance and being an advocate on behalf of all supporters.

Your website makes claims that you are there to represent and lobby on behalf of LCFC fans. I would hope that you care about, and lobby on, issues like mobile ticketing on behalf of more than just your modest number of members. Having Union FS and the Foxes Trust working together in the interests of the entire fan base could be powerful and impactful.

Can you tell us about the meeting you had with the club yet?

As stated previously we will be communicating with our members first covering a range of issues discussed, however as referred to in the article we raised the ticket system potential failure contingency plan at the meeting, along with a couple of issues in relation to ticketing

My daughter got a card this year, not sure where you got the info about not printing new ones from but it's wrong.

The club only issued a new card for:

- new season ticket holders who stated a card preference (default was digital)

- existing season ticket holders who moved seat

- existing season ticket holders whose age meant their price category changed from last season

Where was this type of response last year when there were huge queues outside the ground and those missing start of games due to technical issues from poor rollout?

If you read the article, we raised it early last season, organised a meeting with the club about various aspects of digital ticketing and invited Union FS and the Dis-abled Supporters Association to attend the meeting with us, so our joint concerns were discussed, the main initial aim was to apply a hard break to deter the club from making digital tickets mandatory for every fan which has happened at other clubs

The items we raised at the meeting in September 2022 were all points raised by our members, with the vast majority of comments received all against digital ticketing for a number of reasons, for instance a good number of our season ticket holding members said they would refuse to go to any cup games if digital ticketing was the only method of obtaining tickets (we heard this was the plan, but was changed as a result of the meeting)

As per the September 2022 meeting, all 3 fans groups worked together then on this topic. At that meeting we were promised some stats from the club in regards to digital ticketing, these have still failed to appear and we reminded the club last week, these were still outstanding. A Fans Consultative Committee Meeting has just been announced for early September, we would expect all 3 groups will be raising digital ticketing to be discussed again then.

In our piece we acknowledged away from football that digital entry is being adopted at other events without great opposition, in the case of football both the clubs and authorities are not readily stating that the drive for digital ticketing is around being able to clearly identify everyone in the stadium, so any "behaviour" issues can be traced.

The club issued me a new card (season ticket holder for 18 years), after I changed back from NFC. I did not meet any of the criteria you claim above.

They only printed new ones on request for those moving back from NFC and new age brackets as far as I'm aware.

My lad got a new one as he moved from u12 to u16 but my other 3 I had to keep the old cards.

The relative focus of this group never ceases to amaze me.

I’ve just read that statement they put up and nowhere can I see where the FT considers NFT ticketing, it’s just a load of babble with no way of knowing if they’re for or against it.

So Foxes Trust are you for or against NFT? Simple enough question but you don’t seem to answer it.

We are for choice, some fans are very happy with NFT, but we are against it being compulsory, which is the route several other clubs have followed

Majority of clubs who have gone entirely digital also offer a way, free of charge, to transfer a ticket to someone who has a client reference number. If they were to offer something in line with other clubs like that, I might be more inclined to believe this is being done for our benefit and not theirs.

They already do.
