Ashby being the further West “city” and Stamford the furthest East

Ive just moved to Ashby recently, from Peterborough.

Season Ticket holder for many years

Used to come in from Peterborough for 20yrs+

- on the train for daytime Saturday matches to meet LCFC supporting friends/family pre-game

-  in the car along the A47 for night matches.

Theres always more traffic than usual comes in from that way (and back) on those Leicester evening matches, so decent support from that way.

As for Ashby ...... I made contact with someone connected with Coalville and Ashby Supporters Coaches, with a view to getting the Supporters Coach in with them on all night Home matches, and maybe some daytime ones too - as the bus service from Ashby into Leicester is shocking

- about 1 hour 40 minutes each way minimum, and

- last bus back to Ashby on a Saturday leaves St Margarets is 5.25pm

- meaning a jog back from the King Power - or you miss the bus - for a 3pm kick-off.

Was told that Coalville and Ashby Supporters Coaches for HOME games start from Coalville now (they no longer go to Ashby at all for those) - they only come here on AWAY fixtures.

So thats two reasons why Ashby may get dislocated from LCFC and the KP stadium

*  you cant get in by public transport (and back) for anything apart from a 12.30am Saturday Kick-Off

*  you cant use the Coalville and Ashby Supporters Coaches unless you drive to Coalville

-  (may as well just drive to Leicester, or a better connected village/town bus route in the County, like Desford, Newbold Verdon etc) where we have family.

So until public transport into Leicester includes a quicker bus route - or until the Supporters Coaches come back to Ashby (not just Coalville) - then the chance of increasing support for our club out here, is very limited.

A smattering of Cov in Lutterworth.

If you want a higher ratio of Cov fans then head to Ullesthorpe. Lutterworth is a strange insular town, can't actually think of any Leicester that go the games regular. They oddly have a small group of Sunderland that go home and away as well

I was in stamford yesterday and was very surprised by amount of tigers fans heading to the rugby. Of course Stamford is quite an upmarket town, but you wouldn't think Lincolnshire would have many interests in Leicester sports team.

Annoyingly seen two Cov shirts... can't escape those buggers.

Stamford Endowed Schools has an affiliation with Leicester Tigers.  Ex Tigers fullback Geordan Murphy is a teacher/coach their plus Leicester Tigers sends players there during the suummer months to Have a coaching session/tournament their too.

Melton is at least 25% Forest

noticed a fair amount of Forest over the Oakham area as well when I used to go there about 25 years ago

I live in Grantham and see quite a lot of City shirts tbf. Expect a drop off in the amount of Forest shorts seen in the wild as all the fans convert back to Man United/City, now that they are not going to Istanbul

Full kit w@nkers!

If we have towns on the edges of the county infected by neighbouring fans, is it the case that some Nottingham or Warwickshire towns are Leicester?

Can't remember even seeing any coverage or forest fans for 25 years.  They've finally come blinking into the daylight.

Might just be perception bias but Glasgow has a lot of Leicester fans 👀

I've spent a lot of time in Shepshed the last 10 years and I'm yet to meet a Derby fan. I'd say mainly Leicester and more Forest than I'd wish to see.

Two kids I went to school with (thankfully didn't keep in touch 😂) were from Shepshed and Derby fans

Would certainly give the Coalville Supporters club bus a try. You can park near the bus pick up near Memorial Square for a small fee. Once on the bus you don’t have to worry about negotiating the traffic, just sit and chat with a friendly bunch while the driver has that problem. Get dropped outside the club shop and picked up after the match on Burnmoor Street

Thing is in Loughborough, same as Melton, the forest filth that are about feel the need to wear forest clobber 24/7, artificially increasing the profile as City fans there don't tend to wear fox leisure 24/7

I was the same in Nottingham TBF. Dated a bird there for a while and when I'd go for a jog in the morning,.I'd always pop my city.top on

loads go round melton in florist gear but its more or less the same people every time - as others have said its not really a football area which is the same where I work in Oakham which I find weird as fxck

great measure of whether I respect someone is if they say Cob anything else is sacrilege

I went to Stamford to serve an apprenticeship with BG at 18. I'll never forget going in the chippy for lunch with the engineer and good friend of mine and asking for a chip cob 2 or 3 times, bloke serving had no idea, Al says to me you have to buy a bag of chips and a roll seperate. I was devastated 🤣 wot, no chip cobs?

I went schools in Melton in the 80's, hence my hatred of Forest more than any other. We were bottom of the lot back then, as we are now, but at least we can say we've been winners now

I will say this I'd sooner talk and banter with forest fans who actually go from time to time than man united ,Chelsea,Liverpool fans who've never been and I hate forest.
