May not be woke, but really cannot stand the female commentators. Vicky Sparks has a very strange accent and Robyn Cowans shouts too much. Fletcher never shuts up, (doesn’t help that he’s a Forest fan), and Pearce seems to think he is above everyone else. One of the worst ever, was Alan Green on radio 5. Spent more time questioning throw ins he didn’t agree with than commentating on the match. For me, one of his most memorable comments came when City were away to Chelsea. They scored to make it 2. O in the 78th min. His comment, 2.0. Game over. Along comes Steve Guppy and scores 2 goals for a 2.2 draw. Sweet!

Perhaps I should have posted my comments on the Bristol Rovers page as that was where the fitness comment was. I’m an optimistic person and look forward to finally having a decent season. Probably based on fresh blood coming in and the young lads a year older and stronger. Also the disappearance of some of the wasters from last couple of seasons. Just hope that the fans at the games at least start with support for all of the players.

Usual FT outlook for this time of year :” if we win the pre season friendlies,, we were only playing … and will have a poor season: if we lose, then we are going to get relegated. The players don’t look fit.” They are in the process of getting fit and should be ready at full fitness for the start of the season, a few weeks away. Ditch the negativity, and stop wishing for bad stuff to happen just so you can say we shouldn’t have got RM. I don’t like his style of football particularly, but I don’t want to see City in a bad position just to please the doom and gloom merchants.

The More I Watch This WC The More I Hate Football

Too many commentators recently on PL matches, “we’re into the last quarter” instead of saying there’s 25 minutes left. Also, for a number of years, players in a certain position have been described as “quarter backs”! Not sure when added time became “over time”. -
Hope she has always been treated kindly by the supporters she looked after. Good health for the future.

Toxic club - an inconvenient truth about our fans
OnlyOneCity replied to LeePhilpottsBaldSpot's topic in Leicester City Forum
I am not being toxic. I am genuinely concerned by the split in the fan base. I support Leicester City first and last. This does not mean I support King Power. They, unfortunately own my club at the moment but that will change. Showing solidarity doesn’t mean going against your own principles of supporting the team, difficult though it has been, this past couple of years. We have weak leaders at the club and this has been reflected in the state we are now. The Boards and hierarchy at clubs have almost never been fans’ favourites. Some are good, some are bad. We have the latter. But spitting insults at fellow fans will only achieve what we have now, which seems to be a mutual hate between too many fans of the same club. -
Toxic club - an inconvenient truth about our fans

All this rhetoric does not alter the fact that there has been a toxic atmosphere among fans and the abuse has mainly been aimed at fans who don’t behave how the abusers think they should. You only have to look back at months of FT to see the amount of flack thrown towards older fans or fans who continue to attend games when verbally attacked for doing so. There are former fans on here who despise anything to with City., expressing their hate for the club and disgust for fans who don’t share their opinions. , -
Toxic club - an inconvenient truth about our fans
OnlyOneCity replied to LeePhilpottsBaldSpot's topic in Leicester City Forum
The malicious insults are going in the direction of Top and Rudkin but also to fans who try to show support for Leicester City which is actually not toxic. I am not defending Top or Rudkin and wish that they would leave our club. The fans who have desisted from booing the club have been demonised by those who choose to boo anything to do with City. -

Don’t actually get your drift. I am not on any moral high ground at all. Disliking the animosity between fans of the same club does not equate with your assumptions. -

Absolutely spot on. Excellent post. The toxicity levels have at times been quite evil, whether it’s wishing malevolence on Rudkin, Top or players, or the vicious spite aimed at other supporters young or old, who choose to support the team as best they can, but whose way is different to those delivering the vicious insults.- 237 replies

There are an awful lot of stories on the Merc website regarding Russell Martin being the new manager and various players being sold. I do not subscribe to the paper so am unable to find anything which is subscription only. None of these stories have been raised on FT so maybe no one else subscribes or they are not true. If not true, why do they print this stuff. Surely your local paper should be keeping you in the loop of what is actually happening.

You realise that you will be blamed for everything that’s gone wrong at the club!
-
A number of posters have blamed certain fans for all the problems we have…..
-
Ah yes. That boring mantra from anti City fans. “You’re part of the problem” The club is in a desperate and dire situation and the removal of the owner and Rudkin is paramount to any improvement of the situation. Fans can still love the club they have done for however long or short a time, without supporting King Power. Yes, Top’s name may be over the door, but as far as I’m concerned, Leicester City is MY club and always will be. So stick your mantra and you get a grip.
-
Quite a few youngsters played last season, some more successfully than others. This year they should be stronger and fitter. You can’t play every promising 15 year old in the 1st team. If our club is so horrible, I suggest you change your name and find a club that isn’t so horrible and has a team made up of 15 to 17 year olds.
-
I asked the woman next to me who scored and she said “we did”😁
-
What’s really sad is that so many want this to be a humiliation and embarrassment just to satisfy their hate for Top and Rudkin, and are happy for Leicester City and some of the title winning players, to be included in that scenario. Why do you keep carping on at and abusing those who want to acknowledge this event whilst venting your venom on anything to do with City. In this instance, you should be ashamed and embarrassed. Many have already stated that they no longer care for the club so why don’t those ex fans p…. Off and follow someone else.

Never seen anyone wearing a KPFC shirt or scarf. Where is this team from? Seems to be the sole focus of too many posters. We know it’s a stick to try and beat City fans with, but it really is pathetic that those posters don’t understand how fierce fans support is for our club, which if you didn’t know, is LCFC. Sarcasm and put downs seem to be your only ploy and we all know what sarcasm is.

Death has just been announced of Mike Galloway aged 60. Was on loan to City around 1995 but only played a few matches, but was one of those loan players who really endeared himself to City fans with his tough, uncompromising playing style.
