Storm Bert is my least favourite storm of 2024. I can't remember any other storms, so this was the wettest in living memory.

And whoever our ref was today - shocking. I swear the real ref was sick before the match so Leiston sent on one of their coaches to pretend to be one. The most diabolically inept display I've ever seen - it was great lol

And now Kettering have their pretender to the Southern Premier throne, the lovable Yeltz of Halesowen. Could be a good title battle that

Just looked Halesowen have a right tough run of games in next few weeks

Great club Halesowen, need to make a trip over to the Grove. That small area is a mental hotbed for non-league, Halesowen, Bromsgrove and Stourbridge all well supported, Alvechurch & Redditch not far away either.

Hinckley finally, finally finding some consistency with back-to-back wins for the first time this season with a good win at home to March. Conceded first within a minute but a fantastic second half meant a good value 3-1 win, not far off play offs now but with a tough run including 4th place Chenecks away  Saturday we’re going to need to build off of good performances lately.

Beat us first day of the season - but then almost half of that team are no longer at Kettering and we were very much an evolving Lavery project. We badly need to avoid an FA Cup hangover as our play has been poor for the last two games.

They look like they have a decent setup as well.

They have built that up over time Tbf. I went when they were Step 5 and the main ground was still basic as but the other bits were there

Took 1200 to Kiddy last week and the main away pub made a public statement to say how well behaved they were

Honestly, it feels like all coaches are now being taught that the "correct" way to play football is Pep's way. It's insane how many managers in non league, never mind below the Prem are trying to get fairly poor players to play this kind of game lol

It's like the whole aim of football has changed from trying to score more goals than the opposition, to just having all 11 players cosplay as Pirlo.

Another miserable defeat for Grantham at a wet and windy Meres, starting to wonder how low we can go even if relegated considering how much Gresley are struggling in the division below. More new signings but no difference, still no sign of a new manager, contrast to Shepshed who fired theirs and have turned it round.

Anyone know what they’ve put in the water at Darlaston? I know they’re not exactly urchins but from what I’ve heard and listening to Dean Gill on the Non-League Treatment Room it didn’t sound like they had a particularly big budget even at step 5, currently occupying the play off spots at step 4…

Worked my way through three hours of the two-parter with Lavs this afternoon.

Any other recommendations for n/l?

That was a very good episode, enjoyed the Marcus Law one they’ve just released as well. They’re probably the best produced for Midlands Non-League content by a margin in terms of what I’ve found, although the hosts seem to struggle outside their particular areas (roughly A5 corridor teams). Out of their stuff I’d recommend Gaz Dean, Jas Singh, Dean Gill, Kyle Storer, Mark Noon, Gez Murphy and Ivor Green. Either played/managed a good level or have quite an interesting insight into the game even if it’s slightly lower.

I’ve struggled to find decent and consistent Non League content, but if I do find anything I’ll make sure to post!

I do hope Kettering Town, make it to round three and get a decent tie. The club like so many have so many different problems, plus hopefully use the funds towards building a new stadium closer to the town.

Plans are afoot to get that done - but the obstacle is the council. I’ll avoid getting political, just to say we’ve had an endless succession of complete w@nkers.

Not looking likely to go through though. My brother went to see Donny play at Carlisle and said they looked way beyond the division. Our only hope is they fail on our turf and flake under camera pressure.

Just so good!

Down here at Brackley the man of the match recently got a box of meat from the butchers!

I’m going to the Leicester-WHAM match next week and I can’t say it does anything for me now.

Roll on my next home game that I can make at Brackley v King’s Lynn!

God awful accent but love that lol

We wanted to do something similar for one of our mates down at Coalville but the game in question got postponed due to a cup run. Never been so disappointed to win a cup match lol
