Oxford United Kassam Stadium is another terrible one to throw in, the stadium is super soulless miles outside of Oxford and pain to get to and even harder to get away from. I seem to recall you have to wait 30 minutes after the final whistle for a bus to collect fans to take them back to the city centre, on arrival it's just the one bus in fact it's the only bus you can catch if wanna get back after the game. It's only three sided, no pubs or entertainment around the ground.

Slightly off topic....only slightly.   My favourite away days were when we were in league one.  Getting on for the last chance to visit old style grounds with terracing. Very few remain these days.   The standout ones I did were layer road (Colchester),  Edgar Street (Hereford), millmoor (Rotherham ).  Proper old tin roof grounds with turnstiles not designed for anyone with more than a 26inch waist.

Modern stadiums are much of a muchness these days.  Much better view and facilities but not so much character .  That said I liked Stamford Bridge.  It's strange to see a football ground in such a wealthy nice area.

Hereford away is my all time favourite away day. I’d already been there before when we played them in the league cup 06/07 but the league one trip was so good. Bank holiday weekend, sun was shining and edging closer to promotion.

Away weekends are what you make of them though i guess and who you go with. But it obviously depends what you’re looking for.

Personally the two I’d least likely to be up for going are ironically the next two. Both long drives, one of them is exactly the same as our ground with very little around and the other is a tacky old stadium with a crappy view.

Newcastle is a good one for the weekend, albeit a long journey. Always enjoyed Villa away too, partly because we used to have a good record there but it’s easy enough to get to and you can have a good session there as well.

Hereford was brilliant, all cute little pubs and gorgeous day...except for the twat who went to punch Cobbo, missed and caught me square in the face.

So I'm going with Southend. I've never been that drunk.

Worst? Anything involving London. It's expensive and shit.

The old Oxford Manor Ground was a great away day

I remember that, just seen loads of flailing arms behind me lol

Leyton Orient is my favourite of the London aways, but otherwise you’re right about that hell hole.

I like that we're getting lots of votes for teams and places outside this year's Premiership.   I'm wondering if these smaller places make nicer trips out, certainly easier and less crowded and many are in more scenic areas with great pubs!

I suppose we should include some foreign grounds for longer trips away :)

Loved plymouth last season

Cracking atmosphere. Loud fans who really get behind their team.

Short bus ride to plymouth hoe and the pubs at the Barbican

Love the hostile Elland road aswell.

Thought Readings place was nondescript..

Mk dons ground is pl standard but the club isnt

Enjoying reading this!

I like Chelsea although had to walk miles in the rain from the coach drop off last year! Had the best breakfast ever in a random cafe alleyway which thankfully had heaters.

I don’t like West Ham - crap ground not designed for football,  bubbles are really really shit and we always seem to lose.

I like Manchester as a city but don’t like Old Trafford as it’s falling down and the atmosphere is crap.

Wolves is crap, really unfriendly locals and I remember going years ago when they had away fans in the lower tier and home fans in the tier above who just threw stuff at us for the whole game. Also remember a scary underpass. Haven’t been there for years as really dislike it.

I quite like Southampton, surprised other people don’t like the city.

I’ve not been to Newcastle and I’d like to!

Obviously I loved everything about Preston away last year like everyone else who was there! 😊 friendly people, no searches, fans all together in one big block, crazy concourse, amazing atmosphere,  the perfect away day!

I'll take your word for it.  I've been there anyway before they moved.

We drew 1-1.

Promotion season tricky trev scored the equaliser would of gone up if we won

Plymouth was very good, match for us was disappointing but the green army faithful played their part for sure. The foxes fans seem to still enjoy their trip, their was still a lot round the day after, in fact i remember the huge gathering of foxes fans in the pub watching blackburn beat leeds. The atmosphere in the pub that afternoon.
