Very annoying Ric, thought we’d dip our toes back into the Scandinavian market after Hermansen’s success. Like you’ve said yourself, some of the fees have been absolute bargains. Bischoff for £6.5 million, a player with attributes that we ideally needed, but another opportunity falls by the wayside. 
 

Been tracking Provstgaard too, mentioned him to Strider a while back. Another Danish centre back talent in Tobias Slotsager went to Serie A also for 800k.

The centre back Thomas Kristensen from Udinese was available for £13.7m too. 

 

We bid £12.5m 9n the final day for him like the muppets we are.

Martyn Glover should be absolutely buzzing at the prospect of signing bargains when the window opened, no reason why we couldn’t have negotiated ahead of January as well. It should be a scouts dream to unearth talent from abroad. I really don’t see what he is doing at the club day in day out when we have such a lifeless window.

He'll be doing his job, presenting numerous options for priority positions to senior people, including Rudkin.  

 

The negotiations and the buying will having nothing to do with him you'd imagine, perhaps beyond 'we've been pushed up on price, what's your view on that'?

 

Whether or not he finds good players is moot.  But the responsibility for buying nobody is absolutely not his.  His job won't massively change whether we buy 5 or 0.

I dont think Provstgaard is any good anyways but i might be wrong. There's a reason that his team conceded 40 goals in 17 games. He reminds me of Faes, seems to lose his head among the clouds too often.

 

Slotsager does look like a talent. If we're going for Danish centrebacks i would look at Villads Nielsen at Bodo/Glimt, been proving himself in the Europa league.

I’ll be intrigued to see how he develops at Lazio. He was one of the more highly rated defensive talents in Denmark last season, Bologna were supposedly very interested in him in the summer. 
 

Good shout regarding Villads Nielsen, Danish Scout has tweeted about his impressive performances in the Europa League a few times this season. 
 

Lucas Hogsberg at Nordsjaelland is another one I’d keep tabs on. Can play anywhere across the defence. Will probably get better suitors than us though, Como had a bid rejected in January.
