Don't think he will be short of suitors to be honest, they'll just look at his age, not yet in his prime and international experience.

He was good in France and it's not just us who makes dumb deals. We have this sort of exceptionalism on here that nobody would ever buy our bad players, plenty would we're just bad at hawking them out.

We managed to flog Musa to Saudi ahead of the curve and then just never proceed to... never use that avenue again. We don't ever ride and ride our winners which is another example of zero strategy.

It doesn't help that Premier League wages have ballooned over the last decade.

We probably weren't paying Musa THAT much on a global scale but I imagine Faes is paid prohibitively too much to stop him getting a lot of moves to Italy, Spain or Germany that he'd probably be willing to take from a footballing point of view.

Agreed, I think we’re such bad negotiators though which is why our wage bill in particular ballooned.

Faes might not have even been on £10k at Reims, probably arrived here on £50k. A stringent club probably lands him on £35k with the right bonuses - figures may be out but principally that seems about right.

We’re just a soft touch in the market - the Kristiansen deal in particular was a huge overpay for a teenage left back and it took weeks to do it.

Can you all promise that if by some miracle he ends up having a decent career somewhere, none of you start a thread saying we shouldn’t have sold him

We are one of the worst though. We're terrible at both ends. We make stupid deals and we're unable to rectify them.

Forest for their recklessness got a combined £70mil for Mangala, Niakhate and Vlachodimos. If they were here they'd still all be under contract. One of them loaned to Udinese.

For all of our whining about FFP we never engaged in shitty swap deals, it’s not as if we didn’t know how it worked - we had one forced on us!
