UniFox21 Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 Incredibly frustrating player. Has all the physical attributes to be a solid player, yet always has an absolute howler in him. A Soyuncu, David Luiz, Romero type of player 4
Chelmofox Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 Its about the right time. I like him more than most but understand full well his limitations. He's a 14mil defender and plays like one, although i don't doubt he always puts a shift in. He's done alright for himself here really and i dont think either us or him can complain really. 2
CrazyKopCorner Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 (edited) He has the biggest divergence of performance of anyone currently in the squad. Literally can go from looking real international class to looking non league in the same game. Not my sort of centre half at all and I'll be pleased to see the back of him. 2 years left on his contract, Belgium International, he radiates he thinks he's the bees bollock and with the clubs mentioned we should be looking for £10 / £15 million Edited 13 January 2025 by CrazyKopCorner
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 He’s so David Luiz - the hair, the propensity for the odd worldy and gaff laden. If he thinks he’s too good for us then he’s having a laugh and should go.
The boy Linacre Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 His overriding issue is he thinks he's better than he is. We don't think he's that good and he could be. Neither did that Belgian journo last Autumn when he got rinsed after various calamities. Do the hard yards mate, you ALWAYS learning and getting better or you'd be Rio Ferdinand, or Franco Baresi, Cannavaro or Chiellini & you patently aren't. You may fire us to a 2nd relegation in 3 years. Says it all: "He made his debut for the club in a 6–2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on 17 September."
Dahnsouff Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 Always had a soft spot for Wout, fancy he is a total tit and agree he believes his own hype, but at least he offers something different, even if it is disruptive and often bewildering.
JimJams Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 (edited) Unfortunate thing with Faes is when he came we were all told he was a leader, a captain. Yet he's always the first to point the finger. Edited 13 January 2025 by JimJams
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 13 January 2025 Popular Post Posted 13 January 2025 Blokes gone from crying (happy tears we were told) in his car with his wife at signing for Leicester to his camp continually insinuating he's looking to leave. The feelings mutual Wout. 8

coolhandfox Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 15m would be a 6m positive in our PSR position, with 9m left of his amortisation. Seems like are serious about getting funds, with the noise around him and Cannon.

But it's money to go back in the coffers. I'm not surprised this has come up now, from the rumours of leaving in the summer and him being dropped. He thinks he's better than he is. Could not be more the opposite for me - he’s one of the players that got us relegated and although he stayed on it is only because no one would meet our valuation - hate his attitude and his inability to improve. he was one of the first I would have had out the building 18 months ago and be glad never to see him again in a blue shirt ! 2
Claudio Fannieri Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 If we sell for £15m which isn’t extortionate for a current international defender that would give us £24-30m to spend on a player on a 4/5 year deal in PSR terms in this window.

That’s fair enough, no real idea why I don’t dislike him tbh 1
JimJams Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 Calm your shit though lads, all it says is we'd consider offers around £15mill. Doesn't say anyone is interested at that price. 1

Rudkin has come back off holiday; or 2. We’ve got some positive news regarding the PSR concerns. There is no other way to explain why today of all days we’ve decided to wake up during this critical window. Loan players returning, a signing to be announced, players rumoured to be available. 2 weeks of silence and then bang. Edited 13 January 2025 by Mickyblueeyes

The Hitman Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 I know £15m isn’t a lot in modern football but I can’t see anyone daft enough to pay that knowing our financial position.
jayfox26 Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 So are Vestergaard and Coady the only centre backs we have that actually want to be here? Faes wants out Okoli wants out. I'm not fussed about either to be fair but can understand why some want to leave, the clubs a joke.
-sodapop Posted 13 January 2025 Posted 13 January 2025 I think we can get 15m for him easily, honestly. He's the sort of defender who is great when you have to do relatively little defending; a big fish in an easier league could easily make the best of him. Could see him succeed for an attacking, ball dominant side in the Netherlands/Turkey/Portugal or France quite easily.
