How is the Scenic?

Watched a few reviews and looks excellent.

It’s a nice drive and smooth, does about 270 on full charge atm, so quite a bit less than advertised for the long range version but that’s fine for me and it’s a good size inside.

These are promoted as the best ofboth worlds, but seem just the opposite to me. Lugging around two different technologies, just mean double or more things to go wrong.

What are your typical journeys?

I wouldn't go anywhere near one, personally.

You'll probably see your fuel consumption get worse.

this is the thing. I live and work rural, so 4/5 days a week doing sub 30klms a day.... but volunteering on other 2/3 days could be doing 250ks +

In my experience, when I had a PHEV as a company car, those long journeys will absolutely kill you on fuel.

My brother in law is of the same opinion, he's getting out of his Golf GTE.

A PHEV will probably quote an electric range of 30 miles. It'll be more like 20 and even less cold weather (probably not something you need to worry about) lol

The one that stick in my mind is when I took mine from Northampton to Liverpool to watch us lose at Anfield.

It cost me about 80 quid in petrol to get there and back. Had I taken our 2 litre diesel that we had at the time, I probably could've done it for £30.

If you're doing 10 miles to the office and back a day, maybe consider one, otherwise, don't even think about it.
