Jordan James returned to the Club early to receive treatment for an injury sustained on international duty, Gary Rowett has confirmed.

We’re back in action later this week, facing Preston North End at King Power Stadium as the Sky Bet Championship resumes on Good Friday with a 3pm kick-off.
The on-loan Foxes midfielder played 56 minutes of Wales’ FIFA World Cup Play-Off Semi-Final defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina last Thursday, before being withdrawn, missing out on the following friendly fixture against Northern Ireland.
“He’s obviously come back for treatment,” Rowett explained on James. “He landed a little bit awkwardly. It wasn’t anywhere near perhaps what one or two people felt at the time, which was that it might be something more serious.

“He’s recovering well. He hasn’t trained today, but a lot of the international lads either haven’t trained today or aren’t back yet. He’s one that certainly tomorrow morning we’ll be having a discussion to see whether we think he’s available.
“If you speak to JJ, he’s adamant that he’ll be fit, like most players do, which is a great sign, but obviously we’ll try and find a balance between the two games, making sure that if he’s fine for the first one, he’ll be fine for the second one.
“We’ll have that conversation, but at least it’s a positive conversation, rather than sitting here saying he’s definitely going to be unavailable for the two games.”
Elsewhere, Jannik Vestergaard and Aaron Ramsey have both continued to be involved in training in Seagrave, while centre-back Harry Souttar stepped up his recovery with minutes in an internal match on Wednesday.
“We’ve been quite fortunate in the way we’ve worked and the good relationship we’ve got the medical team already,” the 52-year-old continued. “It means we’re hopefully all making good decisions around players.

“We’ve got a few players coming back. Jannik has trained well for a period of time now. Aaron Ramsey has trained well and trained consistently.
“Harry Souttar is playing in a game as we speak and I think got through 45 minutes. Again, he’s making good steps towards making a return at some point. He’s been out for a long time.
“There were three or four players who had less time off than the other lads, because we felt it was important they did that, the likes of Jannik, Souttar, Ramsey, the players realised they needed to do some extra work, which I think is a really good sign.”
Waiting for the return of a trio of internationals in Bobby De Cordova-Reid (Jamaica), Patson Daka (Zambia) and Divine Mukasa (England Under-19s), the Manager told the media he does not expect it to hamper preparations.
“Bobby and Patson will be back tomorrow (Thursday) morning," he added. "Divine is back tomorrow and will be fine to train. It doesn’t affect us too much, but it will be just one or two we’ll have to make a call on. It works against everybody who has internationals. There’s nothing new with that.”

Jordan James of Leicester City

Jordan James aggravated an injury problem during a fitness test last week and may now be a doubt to feature against Swansea this weekend, Leicester City manager Gary Rowett has said.

James picked up an injury on Wales duty, and while it initially appeared to be a concern, Rowett quelled those fears by suggesting City’s top scorer may even be in contention to feature against Preston last Friday.

But James did not make the squad against North End and then missed out again on Easter Monday as City drew 1-1 at Sheffield Wednesday.

Rowett has now said the injury issue was made worse when James underwent a fitness test before the Preston fixture, with the midfielder keen to get back out onto the pitch.

Now he may not even be back to take on Swansea this weekend, when City will again attempt to get out of the relegation zone.

“They weren’t really close,” Rowett said on James and fellow attacking midfielder Aaron Ramsey following the 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

“JJ had a fitness test for the first game which made it seem like he wasn’t far away. By having a fitness test he’s maybe aggravated it a little bit. It didn’t quite feel like he was close for this one. Aaron Ramsey didn’t make either game.

“Those sorts of players in these sorts of games, both goalscoring number eights that can come up with something out of nothing, of course we’re going to miss them.

“But we’ve got enough players on the pitch to win the game. We’ve got enough players on the pitch to score more than one goal. That’s the expectation for those players.”

James has now missed eight of City’s last 13 games. They have failed to win any of those eight matches.
