Back then I couldn’t get to many games, this was the first Premier League game I’d been to. Sat front row of SK1 near the corner. Vividly remember there being an excitement around me. A pigeon then swooped down and knocked itself out on the advertising board before the game began.

When we went ahead we were singing ‘We’re top of the league’ and telling myself to enjoy it because we’d never be able to sing it again.

If only I knew what was to come, I’d be a very wealthy man!

I have an enormous catalogue of videos from that season. Match clips, punditry, analysis, Sky Sports News/BBC EMT/ITV Central etc. Right from August onwards, not just when everyone started getting excited.

More than happy to help share some of this if you think it's worth it, I can have a rifle through the hundreds of files and send some initial bits?

That would be awesome if you could mate, I would be very grateful if it's not too much of a hassle!

Will you be posting in here the prompts for each games anniversary?

Absolutely can if it doesn't annoy everyone!

Hello all. Have started posting stuff at https://www.instagram.com/lcfc5000to1 today as it's ten years since the Sunderland game.  Posted a lot of video clips this morning, thanks to @Footballwipe who has sent me so much great stuff.  Very, VERY grateful.

I'd love to do one more post today / tomorrow if possible (I posted loads this morning as I have to head to Cardiff for work now), which would be any memories that you guys have of that game. So I can screenshot things properly, I'd need them EMAILING to me via [email protected] rather than posted here.  Can be just a paragraph of what you remember from the game, how you felt after it etc; or if you happen to have screenshots of Whatsapp chats from back then or pictures from the day that you could send on then that would be fantastic.

Please spread the word on this too - it's great for us to be nostalgic but I'm also using it as a way to educate my nearly nine year old son (born two days before the Hull game in 2016!) on how insane that season was from start to finish.

Thanks all!

Been a long time so cant remember some games, have a fair few of  the programmes stashed away.

The Sunderland game started as we finished the previous season, we were a well oiled machine and looked superb, remember saying to my mate that if we continued playing like that for a while we would definitely stay up lol.

My memory of the opening day was gigging somewhere, the weather being perfect, and when I got some network finding out we were three up, and the 1st violinist said to me 'that might be an important result come the end of the season' (meaning the one between relegation and staying up).

I might have reminded him of that comment a few times since.

This Friday (15th) is the anniversary of the West Ham away game so there will be a few posts about that on the day. Shinji’s first goal! ❤️

as always, if you have any memories, photos, stories from that day please either DM me at the lcfc5000to1 Instagram or drop me an email at [email protected] (that way they are easier to screenshot and post)

Just giving this a wee bump as it's ten years today since Nathan Dyer's heroic header gave us a 3-2 win over Villa after being 2-0 down.

Have posted four videos over on the 5000 to 1 Instagram page (once again, thanks to @Footballwipe)

Match preview

Claudio wears a hat and the Soccer Saturday guys pass comment

Highlights of the game

Hearing from Claudio and some selection analysis from Sky

That Dyer goal is one of my first utterly great memories of that fantastic year. I'd also forgotten that Villa scored two absolute bangers, but Mahrez was just unbelievable on that day.

I remember being ribbed throughout my holiday in Gran Canaria just before the season started for supporting Leicester by a bloke running the entertainment in the main bar who was a Spurs fan; gutted I never got to see him again!

Getting to the business end of the season now.  Just scheduled some really nice stuff from the Sunderland game ten years ago to the IG account today.  Posts will be coming up all through the day up until 7pm, and the next few weeks are probably going to get a bit crazy.  Do give the account a follow if you would like to be distracted from the horror of this season.

I actually got paid to be at that game as I was filming an ad for Virgin Media that week, so I interviewed a few fans before and after the game and then watched the match from Sunderland hospitality seating near the press box.  I promised myself I wouldn't celebrate the goals but couldn't help it - fair play to the Sunderland fans around me, they were all surprisingly sound about it and wished us luck for the rest of the season.  Would have given my left arm to actually be in the away end though, looked amazing from where I was.
