Sunderland at home- It was a red hot day wasn’t it- we went on a day session prior to the game. Obviously won 5-2. Back into Coalville absolutely obliterated. Various high jinxes saw us kicked out of every pub in Coalville town centre that evening. We decided to make our way to The Vic, which was the latest closing pub on the edge of town at the time.

We had to walk past the Hermitage Hotel en route, and I distinctly remember seeing and saying there was a wedding reception in full flow. I don’t remember the next couple of minutes that followed, but the next thing I do remember is us being on the dance floor of the wedding reception, in shorts and t shirts, singing Leicester songs over the music. Half the wedding party were joining in. Then we were ‘asked’ to leave that establishment too. 😂

Great day

Very certain we only won 4-2 against Sunderland on the opening day.

I told you we were obliterated to be fair 😅

It's okay. I'm back where I was 10 years ago in sunny Portugal. About 10 feet from the spot where I can very close to putting a bet on us just for the sheer audacity, and then decided against it.

Part of me kicks myself for not, part of me wonders if doing so would have cursed us.

I still won money off my Villa mate who'd insisted on betting who came higher that season. 😆

Looking forward to seeing someone on here complain about how his wife was fuming with the louts that spoilt her wedding night at a hotel in Coalville on the same day as Sunderland (h)

The 5-2 against Sunderland was 15 years before this with Heskey and Collymore

Your right though it was red hot that day

After the miracle of the Great Escape, then Nige being relieved of his duties and Ranieri coming in, the feeling of absolute joy when we destroyed Sunderland was immense.

I remember coming out of the ground and saying to my Dad, if those players had Chelsea shirts on, people would be saying they're going to win the league. We were genuinely that good.

And then we walked past a sour faced Sunderland fan who was banging on about how lucky Leicester were....

This is a great idea, following and looking forward to it. Will dig out some photos and videos from the season.

Also, a big fan of Ivo! Amongst lots of other great stuff, I think he's part of my favourite ever podcast episode on the Quickly Kevin pod - the reading of Steve Bruce's crime novel, Striker.

Oh I remember feeling great during the game, it was truly a magical season, and it felt special right from the start. I think the feel good after the great escape helped.

There was a bit of a downer during the summer with the fiasco during the summer tour and Nigel's subsequent firing, but there was so many things that just felt right.

I was super excited with us capturing Kante (and I have no idea why, although we had missed out on a couple of other midfielders over the summer so perhaps it was the relief at finally persuading someone to join  us), and although he didn't play in the game against Sunderland, there was this nice movement and passing in the Sunderland game that just foreshadowed what was to follow.

My earliest memory of the 2015-16 season is leaving Field Mill after a 1-1 pre season draw with Mansfield thinking we haven't got a hope in hell of staying up this season after watching that shower of shite.

I have an enormous catalogue of videos from that season. Match clips, punditry, analysis, Sky Sports News/BBC EMT/ITV Central etc. Right from August onwards, not just when everyone started getting excited.

More than happy to help share some of this if you think it's worth it, I can have a rifle through the hundreds of files and send some initial bits?

Hello everyone.

A mate of mine from the comedy world (Ivo Graham) messaged me yesterday and passed on an idea - that ten years on from the greatest triumph in sporting history, someone should post content on the corresponding date this year (and next) to relive the 2015/16 season, game by game, to remind the world of how crazy that time was.  He's a Swindon supporter and he remembers how mad it was for me back then, so we started thinking that there must be a load of content and amazing stories that we could share over the course of the season.  We lived it, but supporters of nearly every other club ended up cheering us on too. And if nothing else, it'll distract us from FFP nonsense for a bit. So I decided to do it.

It's on Instagram at: www.instagram.com/lcfc5000to1. Please give the page a follow if you can.

First "proper" post will be up on the 8th (to correspond with the Sunderland game in 2015) so if anyone wants to share any particular images, videos, memories etc... please feel free to pass them on here or via email at [email protected]. Posts there at the minute are little placeholders (season predictions from back then etc).

One thing I'd love to do is have some video of people recounting a particular match; I absolutely want this to feel like a community memory thing rather than me just recounting how I felt at the time (which was mainly disbelief and then horrific nerves from February 2016 onwards). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

Small selection of photos from that season. The tifo ones in particular might be of interest.

Sunderland game was the first one I'd been to in a few years. I remember me and my Dad discussing in the car on the way over that it was an early relegation six pointer. I remember him also sarcastically commenting "well he must be good he's got colourful boots" about Kante when he came on. 5 minutes later he turned to me and said "actually he does look pretty good".

Don't bother to look at Sky's review of the season we hardly get a mention until Chelsea won it for us.
