Can't see us getting anymore after this, the only way we could possibly sell another 500 tickets is if they open it up to those with a booking history, which we won't.

For virtually any other similar sized club in the same situation, they would do this. No promotion of the extra 761 tickets going on sale either.

Unfortunately, the club doesn't seem to have the mindset of taking as many fans as possible to away games, or at least that isn't the case with the current ticketing system. It's why in a general sense our away followings are always at a disadvantage, because no general sale or booking history excludes some of the fanbase.

Not necessarily.   Blocks WL2 and WL3 had a combined capacity of approx 700, but I think the Club only made available the front set of rows - nearer 400 I reckon.    Maybe they're just spreading it across the 3 blocks - and will maybe release extra seats if needed?

Any reason why they do this?

In this particular case ... I genuinely don't know.

But the wider issue of "why they do this"?   I have given up trying to work out why our Club do the things they do?

They actually seem to hate their own fan base, which borders on insanity.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's something to do with safety and people need spreading out. Leppings Lane is horrific and the lower tier only has the one exit.

I don't know how that stand hasn't been replaced.

Another 48 seats opened up at the back of block WL4.   I reckon that takes the number of seats made available in the lower tier to approx 685.

So if the Club have had an extra 761 tickets, then I think there's still another 70 to 80, to be opened up somewhere.

Just released another 40 seats in WL4 like others have said makes no sense in how they are doing it. Wonder if they may open it up to those with a booking history especially has they may have paid up front, but then again this is LCFC we are talking about.

Has anyone’s tickets arrived for this yet?

No, but it says they won't be posted out until Monday.

On 24/3/26, the Club said "We have received a further allocation of 761 tickets in the lower tier".

As far as I could see, the Club opened up
 - the first 9 rows of block WL2 = 235 seats (full block was 328 seats)
 - the first 7 rows of block WL3 = 162 seats (full block was 380 seats)
 - the first 9 rows of block WL4 = 240 seats, followed later by the remaining 48 seats in the block (full block 288 seats)

By my reckoning that's 685.   So 76 un-accountered for.   Unless they're just holding them back for "priority customers", and they'll get put back on sale at some point over the next week.   Who knows?

Now ask for the remaining lower blocks.

Also, I'm sure the upper tier holds more than 2400.

It was reduced following Newcastle’s problems there the other season.

I thought the problems at the Sheff Wed v Newcastle cup match, were complaints about overcrowding on the upper tier concourse.  Nothing to do with the lower tier.  That was my understanding.

Both tiers got reduced as a result.

That sounds reasonable.

Mind you, strange that Newcastle fans found so much to complain about - maybe they just should've been a bit more patient, and pushed a bit less.      It's been like that for the last 35 years.   I don't remember many other fans having so much trouble.    The upper tier concourse is a bit small ...  but then so is Villa's away end, and numerous other older stands.

I've been to Hillsborough many times and it doesn't get better. Those tunnels are too small and a danger at full time or if you're later getting in prior to kick off (plus for those in the lower tier there is only one). As I said earlier in the thread I don't understand how it hasn't been replaced, or at least changed.

As an aside, I was in the Newcastle end at Forest a couple of seasons back, they take at least 500 more with them than tickets sold to most away games, most rows around me were two people deep (if not more). So I imagine they weren't blameless in all this! They just go through the turnstiles two at a time.

Concourse at forest was a particularly horrific experience with the extra numbers.
