I was there at Grimsby in Feb 1983 when he got sent off.

Gordon Milne switched Kevin MacDonald to centre-half and we didn't lose again that season, and got promoted (in June, after the inquiry into the Derby-Fulham game).

I don't think Larry played for us again.

I remember being at Luton away, late 70s, and we made a substitution in the second half. Winston White coming on.

Over the tannoy: "And the substitute for Leicester is White". Cue laughter.

A Rolls Royce of a centre back. One of my early favourite players.

Still remember him heading the winner at home to Chelsea some time in the early 80s and it all kicking off in the Kop which seemed to be full of Chelsea.

Cops wading in with truncheons, all sorts going on.  Extremely eye opening for a pre teen like myself, as I was then.

Was my favourite players as a kid. Always remember his slightly strange warm up routine which involved a high speed stand up front crawl.

Was also my favourite player , good defender, loved it as a kid , with him being brown ( like myself ) playing football after school thinking I was him , great days . Anyone know if he went into coaching/ management.

Easter Saturday 1980, can remember it like it was yesterday. What a time to be alive, and lucky still to be alive after coming out the back of the kop with hundreds of Chelsea fans attacking anyone and everyone. Very scary for a 16 year old as I was at the time, but would never give up the great memories of that season, especially clinching the title away at Orient on the last day of the season. :scarf:

A very classy defender who I seem to remember had Lineker cleaning his boots for him, before he broke into the first team. May and John O'Neill were a very tidy partnership. I was also there for the infamous Chelsea game, I was ten. Glad to see there's people older than me on this forum.

I was at the Orient game and had a seat in the side stand and all I wanted was to get behind the goal where it looked a lot more fun for a 14yr old. Eventually managed to persuade the steward to let me through and what fun it was, bedlam.....journey home on the coaches was an eye openerlol

Was my first full season. I was only 8 or 9 but remember watching it all play out standing on a wooden box my late father had made for me, so I was tall enough to see the action in the family stand in front of the old main stand.

Still a very vivid early football memory.
