Buzzell Posted 28 September 2004 Posted 28 September 2004 He is awesome!! debut game in the Champions League and scores a hat-trick! Bloody good business by Man U i'd say, cant wait to see him play in the Prem!

Ash Posted 28 September 2004 Posted 28 September 2004 Rooney is great talent , and i hope we turns out one of the best players in the world , For Englands sake
Cobbo Posted 28 September 2004 Posted 28 September 2004 As Petrescu said, he could be the best ever...as long as he avoids bad injuries and then the lifestyle...eg. George Best. Brilliant hat trick, shame about the club.
Cobbo Posted 28 September 2004 Posted 28 September 2004 The second was the best. 23009[/snapback] Yes, it's great when you get across players in the style he did there, Especially when it's onto your strongest foot
Guest Daniel Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 Typical Rooney goals, no way will he be the best player ever. He will never be a patch on Henry, he doesnt contribute half what Henry or Reyes does, gets balls knocked through for him to run on to and thats where he's best, no way the best footballer ever and he never will be. Nice finishes and a lovely free kick.

Macca4lcfc Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 What does Henry or Reyes do that rooney cant?
Ric Flair Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 Typical Rooney goals, no way will he be the best player ever.He will never be a patch on Henry, he doesnt contribute half what Henry or Reyes does, gets balls knocked through for him to run on to and thats where he's best, no way the best footballer ever and he never will be. Yes, Henry is currently the best player in the world along with Ronaldinho but just look at what Rooney is capable of. Nothing phases him, the pressure he is under is immense and Rooney couldn't give a ****! Nothing bothers him at the minute, he's so naturally talented he could honestly be the best player in the world for a long, long time. Euro 2004 was proof of how good he is, Thierry Henry has never really done it on the international stage when all eyes are on him look at the World Cup 2002 or Euro 2004, he was shit in both of them. When everyone hypes Rooney up to be some sort of demi-god he goes out there on the pitch and produces the goods, he's incredible. He's never going to play the same way Henry does, but that doesn't mean he can't be the best player in the world. Rooney is lethal infront of goal and he will creat goals for you aswell, perhaps just differently to how Henry would. But to score 3 and set 1 up on your debut after 3 months out is magic. He's 18 and english, ****in marvelous.
Guest Daniel Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 Im not saying he isnt amazing because yeah he is but to be the best in the world you need to do more than score goals, and he doesnt do alot more, hes a very powerful and pacey player who runs onto balls through and finishes them. What does Henry or Reyes do that rooney cant? Assit goals week in week out. Simple.

Henry and Reyes have been playing in a very good Arsenal team, it's easier to set up goals when you have class players around you.
Guest Daniel Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 Yeah, very good point which about hits the nail on the head. We'll see this season wont we, hopefully im wrong because he'll be very good for English football.

TrickyTrev Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 I remeber when Evereton played Leicester last season, I was the only one saying Rooney would go on to be the best player in the world. Anyone else agree with me yet?
Ash Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 Rooney has the potential to be one of the best players in the world, Also with Alex Ferguson as his manager he has a very good chance of reaching that potential .............
scodger cubs Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 imagine Rooney and van nistlerooy with saha playing behind...or the other way around !! That would be a good strike trio!
Guest Daniel Posted 29 September 2004 Posted 29 September 2004 I prefer Smith than Ruud VanMissAlot and Saha
