Mark Posted 8 January 2006 Share Posted 8 January 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/4591302.stm Spurs' Mido flies back to EnglandEgypt's Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam is flying back to England after the postponement a friendly against Nigeria. Mido returns to join his club Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday morning ahead of their FA Cup game against Leicester. He was due to play an African Nations Cup warm-up game on Monday against Nigeria, which has now been postponed. Egypt's assistant coach Shawky Gharieb said: "He said he wanted to return to England and since our match was cancelled and we approved his request." Mido will then stay with his club until the 15 of January and will be available for their Premiership match against Liverpool. He will then join Egypt just five days before their opening match against Libya in the Africa Nations Cup on 20 January in Cairo.

Barwell Posted 8 January 2006 Share Posted 8 January 2006 Even if Mido couldn't play that would still mean facing a partnership of Defoe & Robbie Keane so this news makes very little difference. They have got a few people out though like Davids & King, so there's still hope, just.
syston_fox Posted 8 January 2006 Share Posted 8 January 2006 I expect Rasiak to get a start today. He's a proven championship level scorer so it means Jol can rest one of his main strikers to the bench in the knowledge that Rasiak has the ability to score. City Fan Posted 8 January 2006 Share Posted 8 January 2006 I think Mido will be on the bench at most today because of his flying etc.

Hitesh Posted 8 January 2006 Share Posted 8 January 2006 Rasiak will start IMO, with either Defoe or Keane. He might even play 3 of them!
