Thin_King Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 I am willing to bet anyone here that Kelly will not lose another game in charge of Leicester this season. I am confident in saying this because i beleive we have a good enough squad at this club to overturn any championship division side, and Kelly has seemed to have asked players where they actually play, a point Levein seemed to have overlooked. For examle, -Kisnorbo's preferred position is center back (see interview on official site) -Mayburry actually started the first 5 years or so of his career playing midfield (though he doesnt seem to be too good at it - had a bad season really) The fact Hughes is out of position at times is due to the fact he is willing to play anywhere and he is too good a player to leave out, he has balance in his game going forward and coming back. Mayburry probably shouldnt be playing midfield but Kelly hasnt really had much choice when the likes of smith cant really scrap it out at the back. So, Kelly, so far, has made the changes a lot of us on the terraces were crying out for, especially with Hammond (who works his sox of bless him, but hes not a footballer) being dropped and De Vries sent far away from the walkers. We may not win every game, but i think the confidence installed in our players will be enough to carry us through to the end of the season. And even if this does happen, I think Kelly should probably be demoted to assistant manager to whoever we bring in next to learn the trade further. Im not pessimistic at all am i?
Nationwider Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 Palace, Leeds, Preston, Luton and Reading? Blimey.
Leicfox Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 I am willing to bet anyone here that Kelly will not lose another game in charge of Leicester this season. Go on then, put me down for a score, wots the odds ? or is this a sporting bet.

Bit of a silly bet, Kelly would only need to win tomorrow, and we get a new manager monday, so the odds would be to short to even be considering a bet!!
Thin_King Posted 10 February 2006 Author Posted 10 February 2006 Go on then, put me down for a score, wots the odds ? I'll go and find out actually. And yes, Palace, Leeds, Preston, Luton and Reading, we are capable of doing them all - however scrappy we might do it. Remember Leeds the last time round? got real lucky do to a corrupt linesman. Luton are losing a little steam now, Preston can be outfoxed, Palace too. Reading wont get the better of us twice, we all remember what an average team they have been in the past, and to be frank, its a wonder how on earth there keeping there form up, ok, they have good players and play awesome footie, but we've showed that, if it wasn for our complete lack of confidence in front of goal, we could have doen over most of the teams we've played this year.

By the sounds of things there wont be a new boss in for quite a while..... Not unless were stupid enough to get Holloway or Reid in.. and i dont think we will bother. Tim's not that daft - he'll stick with what works for now - after all, its his pockets that will suffer otherwise

Tim's not that daft - he'll stick with what works for now - after all, its his pockets that will suffer otherwise there's always the possibility he could go brighton and get mowed down by a gay couple on a tandem, who knows whats gonna happen wether it be Saturday/Monday or next Friday, theres always the possibility it would be kelly's last game in charge. its not a bet for the backers imo
steve_wilson101 Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 I think it's conceivable we could get through the rest of the season unbeaten or maybe losing only one or two. Would certainly set us up for a good run for promotion next year - carrying confidence through the summer and making us more attractive to new recruits. Alternatively we could lose the next two games and be right back in the sh!t
Bert Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 Can i have what this guy has been smoking?? Get real mate, how much i'd love this happen you do not know, but come on get in the real world for a minute.

Get real mate, how much i'd love this happen you do not know, but come on get in the real world for a minute. I am dude. It can happen - like i said, we have a good enough crop of players that can make premiership teams ie.Tottenham - look stupid
Bert Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 I am dude. It can happen - like i said, we have a good enough crop of players that can make premiership teams ie.Tottenham - look stupid Yea but come on mate, I'm willing to bet that only 2 teams out of the 92 club teams will go unbeaten for the rest of the season and sadly one of them wouldn't be Leicester. It can happen yes but it is highly unlikely that this will happen. It'd be a minor miracle if this happens.
Master Fox Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 Let's hope we don't lose another game Have I taken over this board yet?
Anish Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 You can bet this thread will be 'bumped' as soon as we lose our next game
Finnegan Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 I'll put £50 on City losing another game this season, mate.
SussexFox Posted 10 February 2006 Posted 10 February 2006 We quite clearly will lose at least another 2 games this season, we're capable of pushing up the table and finishing comfortable mid-table tho
lookwhaticando Posted 11 February 2006 Posted 11 February 2006 there's always the possibility he could go brighton and get mowed down by a gay couple on a tandem, who knows whats gonna happen wether it be Saturday/Monday or next Friday, theres always the possibility it would be kelly's last game in charge. its not a bet for the backers imo Even if we appoint a new manager on Sunday, Tuesday's game is probably too soon for the new manager to actually take control of that game - so Kelly will most likely have another game after Brighton.

leicesterChick Posted 11 February 2006 Posted 11 February 2006 You can bet this thread will be 'bumped' as soon as we lose our next game Yep, that is the most positive way to be thinking.

Thin_King Posted 12 February 2006 Author Posted 12 February 2006 Very true. But we will lose another game this season i'm sorry to say. your a morbid lot arent you. Leicester are more than capable of going the rest of the season unbeaten. Just because its unlikely doesn't mean it won't and can't happen. We could draw every game, who knows!!! But I am still willing to bet that we manage the rest of the season unbeaten.... Not because WE'RE THAT GOOD, but because I beleive we have the confidence now to score goals - our problem in the Levein days. So, though Douglas will STILL make those awful mistakes and concede silly goals, we can now counter it with a few silly goals for ourselves (See Fryatt, Sheff Weds.) so - we may improve a little, but the main improvement will be a finisher up front - hence, the prevention of us losing again this season..... Like i said, pessimistic, but who here would be 100% it wont happen? and if so, how when we've experienced the poor quality of this league.

If we'd have played the likes of C Palace, Reading and Leeds twice already i would be more optimistic about not being beaten again. I dont know though. Hopefully we can. To be fair, those mentioned teams are'nt that good!
Mad Dog Posted 12 February 2006 Posted 12 February 2006 We'll probably win every game this season and make the playoffs. It's possible!

Exactly, with the exception of Reading, all the teams with have to play are BEATABLE, Reading we can hope for a draw, but then we could always call upon the fact we used to always beat the "BIGGER" teams....? maybe we stand more chance of beating Reading than any of the others? Either way, we can hope. I'd sure like to see what the odds are....?
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 12 February 2006 Posted 12 February 2006 i think we'll beat reading. by the time we play them theyll be promoted and will have taken their proverbial foot of the pedal
