Birch'sLeftBoot Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Well, I didn't see it, but by listening I'll chime in with MOM Maybury. Sounded like he was all over it the entire game, and kept us in their area when it counted. As to Direby, theirs would be a tie between Moore and Camp, who prevented us from possibly putting at least a third in.

Bert Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Douglas - 6 Stearman - 6 Paddy Mac - 7 Kisnorbo - 8 what a difference being played in the correct position makes NEJ - 7 Maybury - 8 Sylla - 6 Joey - 6.5 Hughes - 6 Hume - 8 Fryatt - 7.5 Hendo - 6 Smith - 7
Swedging Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Douglas 7 - wrong end for me to see much but didn't seem to do anything wrong Stearman 6 - looked much more pressured than normal Paddy Mac 7 - generally composed and seems to be able to get the best from those around him. Kisnorbo 8 - my MOM. Beautiful positional play and so strong. Nissa 7 - looks better and better with Kis playing inside. Left defense is no longer a real worry. Maybury 8 - really worked tonight and passed well. And scored. Joey 5 - Sometimes passed well. Mostly not. And needs to look for his shooting boots. Hughes 6 - some really intelligent play but sometimes anonymous Sylla 4 - could have been lower but did play maybe 2 intelligent passes Hume 8 - worked really hard, often to great advantage. Fryatt 7 - plays so well next to Hughes. Just misses that yard of pace at times Henderson 4 - Right end for me to see and now I'm dreading any long term injury to Rab, now. Poor command of the area, atrocious kicking and doesn't look like he wants to be here. Smith 6 - starting to shine again but please deliver the early fookin' ball sometimes.
The Reverend Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Douglas- 6 (Henderson-5) Stearman- 6 Solid game Paddy Mac- 7 Does he lose anything in the air? Kisnorbo- 7 Excellent game again vital Nissa- 6 Not loads to do but handled what there was well Maybury- 6 Apart from goal not particularly good Joey- 6 Solid game, but not the player he was 2 months ago Hughes- 5 Non-existent really Sylla- 5 A bit of trickery, slightly improved workrate but no end product Hume- 8 Awesome performance apart from putting away the 1 on 1 didnt do anything wrong. Does he jump like a salmon or what? Fryatt- 7 Good hold up play- looked like a marked man though, which obviously benefitted Hume
TrickyTrev Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Douglas 6 I think the "drop rab" camp realised they don't have a leg to stand on comparing the two keepers tonight Stearman 6 Average game made worse by own goal McCarthy 6 Some dodgy distribution not helped by the fact he won nothign against big Darren Moore. Kisnorbo 8 The guy is a class centre back, a proper athlete with excellent anticipation and desire. Johanson 7 Steady if unspectacular Maybury 7 His best game for a while capped with brilliant off the ball runa nd finish for the goal. Joey 7 From the sublime (two passes through to Maybury) to the ridiculous. (One of the worst cross the pitch passes in the general directon of Smith you are likely to see) Hughes 8 Great touches of class on the ball and provides the movement that our team otherwise lacks, His run made the second goal possilble. Sylla 5 Looks ot have almost no confidence playing at the Walker. Very uncomfortable on the left side too. Hume 9 Made stuff happen all night, looking for the ball and willing to commoit defenders. Lets hope this si the start of a goal scoring run because in terms of ability he is one of the best in the league. Fryatt 7 Great touch, movement and pace but could have doen better witha couple of chances. I think we have a real player on our hands. ***Subs*** Henderson 4 Came and flapped at a ball and his kicking was atrocious. Didn't do anything right really. Smith 7 Clearly suffering from illness still but showed glimpses of the old Smith that we all fell in love with.
Scow Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Douglas - 5 Him and Kisnorbo almost got in to another mix up in the first half, and he looked a little slow getting down to the first goal. Almost caught out by two long range efforts as well. Stearman - 6 Looked a little scared of Smith, allowing him to cut inside with ease at times. He coped with him better than he did at Pride Park, but still looked a little wary. McCarthy - 7 Dealt well with Moore from set pieces and looked assured from open play. Kisnorbo - 8 Continues to excel at centreback - keeps tight to his striker, wins virtually everything in the air and made some vital interceptions. Still needs to take care with his distribution. Johansson - 7 Can't really ask much more of him. Beginning to settle in to the left back spot, although a far from ideal choice there. Covered well for the centrebacks when headers needed to be won. Maybury - 7 A much better performance, capped off with a well worked goal. Saying that, he did seem to play too deep and narrow at times, which invited pressure from Derby down that side. Gudjonsson - 5 Some of his passing was woeful. Conceded the ball in very dangerous areas. One pass in the second half summed up his performance to a tee. Ball gets played to him, a first time pass is then hit straight out of play with no City player in sight. Battled away typically, but it seemed like a performance from last season. Hughes - 6 Pulled out of a few tackles, but involved in some good phases of play with his quick, short passing. Should have scored when he was put through on goal via a defence splitting pass. Sylla - 4 Continues to frustrate with his ineffective runs and delivery from wide. Can't really remember him doing anything of use. Hume - 8 Linked up superbly with Fryatt at times and won plenty of flick ons against players much bigger than him. Also showed plenty of ability and talent when on the ball and gave the Derby centrebacks a nightmare at times with his direct running, plus his ability to drop deep and collect the ball. Fryatt - 8 Fantastic hold up play again. Add to that some very neat turns and clever runs which had Moore struggling at times. Subs: Henderson - 6 Almost gifted Derby a goal when he missed a punch, but thankfully Johansson was there to mop up. Not sure about the second goal as I was sat at the other end of the pitch, so I'm not sure if he was to blame for that. Kicking was slightly better than Rab's. Smith - 6 Made a difference when he came on. Seems to have that 'spark' again, which was missing from the last few weeks. Delivery not up to scratch though.
Chimp Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 I won't bother posting my ratings as Scowy has summed up my feelings about the players/match perfectly.
AyewJoking Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 Hendersons kicking was woeful. Hasnt got as much distance as Rab and how many times did he spoon the ball out of play when he kicked from his hands?

beighton155 Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 Ratings can be posted online http://www.lcfc-ratings.co.uk see whast everyone else thinks!
Frankthefox Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 Post your player ratings in here. Yes Camp was excellent but should have been booked for taunting the Kop and time wasting. Maybury had a good game but Hume was superb-brilliant heading and neat footwork. Hate to say it but we did miss Weso.
