Head Honcho Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Where would you like City to go on Pre-season tour this year? .......and have you ever been to see City play abroad in a Pre-Season Tour? Anywhere in Europe for me, preferably with an Easyjet Airport close by!
Flemmish Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 La Manga!!!!! Third time lucky!! Don't even say that!! Then again there is no Wise or Adams...what can go wrong?

Head Honcho Posted 21 February 2006 Author Posted 21 February 2006 Down under - so i can watch them whilst i'm on holiday Thats right it's all me me me with you innit
C-man Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Thats right it's all me me me with you innit Well yeah Besides, the question was 'Where would you like them to go?', so im fully justified in my decision
andyb92 Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I think far east....in Asia they love anything to do with European especially English football, if the board can sort the whole PR thing out and arrange some friendlies with fairly competent teams in say thailand, china etc then i think the club could be onto a lucrative revenue generating money spinner, and get a chance to look at any emerging asian players and perhaps even set up some sort of feeder club.
Birch'sLeftBoot Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Obviously, my vote is a bit biased...

Good idea, we already sort of have a link to a Asian club (East Bengal, from India) - but I dont think it's a feeder club though. Apart from East Bengal coming to play that tornament thingy in 2004, I don't really know what else has happened with the link up. Thinking about it now, Im not even sure if there is still any link up

Beckham has generated millions for Real Madrid over there. I can see it now millions of chinease wearing city shirts with 'Hume' on the back 9
Flemmish Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Well this is maybe why I never took Geography at A-Level I agree in principal with you, but I doubt it will catch on, seeing as Beckham was already renowned all over the world, the publicity he had when he went over there was phenomenal. Whereas, Leicester City isn't really known much outside of the UK, however, there seems to be a few people on here who are outside the UK, so I could be proved wrong
12FRYATT Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Down under, just because of the aussies we have in our squad, silly suggestion but who cares
AyewJoking Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 The cheaper the better. I hear Skegness is hosting a Super Sunday League Tournament in late July.
aussie-fox Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 i think australia would be great, ive emailed the club sooo many times about it. with all the aussies in the sqaud it makes sense, but i dont want to happen next season now, cause i'll be in leicester at that time and knowing my luck thell come over when im not there!

I know a lot of Danes that support various Coca Cola League clubs Obviously I'd want them to come to Denmark. We have splendid facilities here
Stuliasz Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 AUSTRALIA!!!! I'm going already between Jun 24th - Jul 30th so that would be immense.
Flemmish Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 Its Eastern Europe for me, seeing as I'm half Polish and I'm going there for my summer holidays. Doubt the club will go Poland though, but they have been to Eastern Europe before, namely Latvia.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 A trio of games against Helsingborgs IF, Malmo and FC Copenhagen would be splendiferous.
TrickyTrev Posted 22 February 2006 Posted 22 February 2006 I think people underestimate how difficult it will be to sell Mark De Vries of Championship strugglers Leicester replica shirts as opposeed to David "one of the best looking men in the world, superstar wife, most famous footballer in the world, all round massive celeb" Beckham who plays for teh most succesful clubside of all time, Real Madrid, replica shirts. Its not a magic formula, Go to Japan....Make a shit load of merchandise money, otherwise everyone would do it. You actually have to have aproduct worth selling. In light of all of that I'd pack 'em off to Scotland or Scandanavia on the cheap so they can get some strongish competition and a good physical work out. Hopefully it would also prevent the playes feeling they are ona an extended holiday too.

dhermon Posted 23 February 2006 Posted 23 February 2006 Vermont Melbourne Victoria Australia Just need a bit of warning so i can make some room for them all to stay Joking aside it would be a good trip for the club Cheap Decent Weather Great Facilites and us aussies love backing our own so when the word got out that we have no less than 4 players at the club 1 of which could end up better than Mr.kewell i can foresee it being a real money spinner for the club

Playing against shite opposition who play a completely different, less physical, style of football to what they need to be preparing for. As for the money making oppurtunity I just don't see it. There is not a product worth selling and those trips have huge costs. It would probably be a money loser if anything.
