James blunt - worst album Now I know he's not some peoples cup of tea. But how can the bigeest selling album of the year be the worst?? I just can't stand music snobs like the idiots who write for NME.

Babylon Posted 24 February 2006 Author Posted 24 February 2006 Don't you like them Lib? I think most people do think they a quite good... the hype just does my head in. Best Band... I think not!!!
Libertine Posted 24 February 2006 Posted 24 February 2006 Don't you like them Lib? No. I don't particularly dislike them, I just don't think they're anything special and I'm sick of all the praise they seem to get from everyone I think most people do think they a quite good... the hype just does my head in. Best Band... I think not!!! Exactly right.
Leicester City Posted 26 February 2006 Posted 26 February 2006 I didn't take the awards seriously. James Blunt - Worst album!!! Coldplay were up for worst band!!! And don't get me started on sexiest man and woman. Terrible awards.
Jay Posted 26 February 2006 Posted 26 February 2006 But these awards are voted for by the readers of the NME and not by the Fat Cat record executives that make the Brit Awards, obviously wanting to promote their own artists!!!! it's general Public who voted James Blunt worst album and for the record I agree with them!!!!! Ian Brown is also a genius who changed the shape of music if it wasn't for him you wouldn't have Oasis or most of todays guitar bands. any awards that are voted for by the readers of the general public IMO deserve much more respect than any coporate advertisment like the Brits
The People's Hero Posted 26 February 2006 Posted 26 February 2006 The list goes on... James blunt - worst album Now I know he's not some peoples cup of tea. But how can the bigeest selling album of the year be the worst?? I just can't stand music snobs like the idiots who write for NME. Very harsh to say it's the worst album. Most over-rated is about right.

He is brilliant. Coldplay - Worst band?! No way!
Ajax Treesdown Posted 5 March 2006 Posted 5 March 2006 It's also the general public that made it the biggest selling album of the year. He is brilliant. Coldplay - Worst band?! No way! Coldplay and Blunty are overhyped by the media. Overrated, both of them.
Leicester City Posted 5 March 2006 Posted 5 March 2006 Coldplay and Blunty are overhyped by the media. Overrated, both of them. That's your opinion. They sell millions!
Alexikokopops Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 That's your opinion. They sell millions! But so did the Spice Girls. Anyway, NME is a big pile of wank.

Finnegan Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 The NME's read by 15 year old little pretentious ****s that think they're the bees knees of music because the rag they're reading delludes them that their music taste is "scene" and "underground". Trust me, I used to be one. Is it any suprirse that the awards finish as they do?
Dunc Posted 6 March 2006 Posted 6 March 2006 The NME's read by 15 year old little pretentious ****s that think they're the bees knees of music because the rag they're reading delludes them that their music taste is "scene" and "underground". Trust me, I used to be one. Is it any suprirse that the awards finish as they do? 'People's Awards' are always subjective, and NME awards are no different. The major difference between them and others is that they are generally deemed to be important by the rock/indie/alternative bands the magazine promotes and reports. Obviously if the Brit Winners who are generally the unit shifters of their catagories are what you like then you are unlikely to like the NME winners. Personally I find more I agree with on the NME awards rather than the unit shifters of the Brits. another thing I find is that people like bands til its deemed to be too popular and then its more of a statement to dislike them. I say this about the Arctic MOnkeys, no matter what you say they were underground a year ago, and even 8 months ago when I saw them. Yet people that liked them during that period now profess to hating them cause they are No 1 band in the charts and popular round the world. They aren't life changing, overly original but they write great songs with fantastic pop and indie hooks which coupled with lyrics that are honest, witty and at some points clever and funny I don't see why people shouldn't like them. I read somewhere that people were arguing they weren't as good as Radiohead and not as good as The Arcade Fire, things that don't tally with me as all 3 bands are trying to be completely different from each other. Their album would have an 8.5/10 from me but in terms of bands around at the moment they are good, very good.

All the indie kids that think they are too cool to like succesful music need their heads checking.
