BartonFox Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 It created one of the best atmospheres before i game i had ever heard though. Sorry that was the noise of 25,000 numbskulls happy-clapping to 'Rocking All Over the World', 3,000 traveling fans pissing themselves and about 4,000 groaning in sheer and utter embarrassment and disbelief.

Chimp Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 Not what I was getting at and I would be completely shocked if that did happen, I don't forsee that on the horizon. People want power, people don't want to give it up, it gets messy all ends in divorce and we, the kids, are the ones that suffer. Hmm, okay, so, there's some kind of power struggle going on at LCFC... what level is this at? Would it just involve the CEO or does it go higher into the board or directors? C'mon Barton, spill the beans.

Janx Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 No, it's between Birch and Henry the horn player! :w00t: Brilliant!
Fox4ever Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 This shows you know absolutley nothing about LCFC. The Birch is at the training ground every single day!! I believe HE is one of the main reasons for the Leicester team spirit over the last 15 years!!! Leicester, especially the training ground is one of the friendliest in the country and it is staff like the Birch (including Doris the tea-lady) that keep it that way. Does it not tell you something most of our ex-player still keep in contact with the Birch including Walsh, Izzet, Savage etc. He keeps the injured player amused in their time of need (Morris and Jones especially!!) Also he is an important go between between players (first team and youth) and the club!! It was Birch that the player went too to get Kelly to be the new manager, an if the Ipswitch rumours are true, do you think the players would do that for a club secretary!??? Before you do make statements like this please get your facts correct!! Phew rant over.... Shows how little others know. You have got it exactly right. Mon thought Birch was a big part of what goes on at Leicester and would be the first to protest at the thought of him getting the push. His trouble is he tells it like it is, not always what the board want to hear. They voted off a fellow director for doing just that.

Still, after all these years, the main problem with this club is not moving on from those great great days.

The beans are spilt, as Mulder says "the answers are out there", you just need to know which order to put them back in the tin.
Babylon Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 There is something seriously wrong at the Club, I said that the other week and got chastised for it. I think that was over specific points not that there isn't something wrong. As Ric said at the time we had both (and some others) written about our misgivings about the current setup. Do you have "inside info" or are you putter the jigsaw together from the little snippets we find out?
l444ry Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 Yeah fair play to Birch for all of his Charity runs and stuff, but he doesn't have to be involved with Leicester City FC to do that! But I just can't understand what the big deal is if he goes? That just sums up why you make your ludicrous criticism of a club legend. He doesn't actually drain this club of money for his services. Go on then...replace a true character with another faceless prat.

Having worked with him for a short while he was an ok bloke, crossed the line a little bit too often for my liking though. I have no problem with having him around, BUT for 30k a year!!! I'm sorry but that if way over the odds for sometime who is part time at best. He also hasn't told it like it is for about 6 years!!
Babylon Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 I quote the fozes trust on Talking balls. "The Birch rumour is not true"

People took at a dig at Rob Kelly, which it wasn't. The general topic was to highlight the problems behind the scenes, as I say no smoke without fire.

Birch'sLeftBoot Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 Birch is one of the reasons I even follow the Foxes. Through listening to his commentary on Heart Phone-In, I grew interested in the team. He is a real character, legend, and the current players of today wouldn't have half of the love or enthusiasm he has for his club. Something has definitely happened, however, as he has one/tenth of the spunk on the phone-in these days. What has happened, once and for all? Fill us in please. Living overseas, I have no idea whatsover.

He also hasn't told it like it is for about 6 years!! 30k a year is F*** all, he is a city legend - city through and through, you cant say that about alot of players or staff involved in the club. They seem to always want rid of anyone who has passion for the club - Walshie to name one. Am sure the players could pull a couple of hundred quid out there pockets to pay his 30k a year
bocadillo Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 I quote the fozes trust on Talking balls. "The Birch rumour is not true" I get the impression that the FT is starting to be a mouthpiece of the club.. If what they say is true, there has been some back-tracking. People who are in a position to know were certainly saying that Birch was on his way out earlier in the day.
BartonFox Posted 28 February 2006 Posted 28 February 2006 Do you have "inside info" or are you putter the jigsaw together from the little snippets we find out? I said in that spat earlier in the month I know what is going on and the bits I don't it is pretty plain to see what is actually going on. Not being smug, but I did say something was afoot and look what has surfaced, wait for more. The days are getting shorter for some within the Club and I ain't talking about those you 'read' about today. Soon this Club will be back on track, and we'll have nothing to argue about

Am sure the players could pull a couple of hundred quid out there pockets to pay his 30k a year There are lots of city legends, shall we pay them 30k a pop!! No 30k is not **** all for someone who works part time. You have people working for the club doing 9/10 hours a day on half that amount and they love the club just as much. I would rather have the guy at the club than not, but it has to be value for money.
