I'm sorry but there is no confirmation that he has been sacked. He must of done something to get sacked if has of course, like you said 30 years service and then to get the sack? Sounds a bit funny to me :glare:

Look YOU have no facts yet you are happy to see a guy who has worked somewhere for 30 odd years get booted AND feel happy about it, you surely have an axe to grind, perhaps merely to gain notorioty on a webforum(sad in itself).

The Birch is an all round good bloke with great charitable achioevements also, if he has done something worthy of scaking then I agree see you later, but I also think that sacking someone for no GOOD reason is hardly a laughing matter.

Just out of interest, how old are you?

I am not trying to be snide, just interested, perhaps if you had a long career behind you, hefty mortgage, kids etc you may think differently.

Remember Birch is NOT a wealthy millionaire of the 90s and Prem days, in fact wasnt that wealthy in the 70s

I fail to see the humour! <_<

I agree. He's done a lot for our club (and he has) and people on here are treating him like something they would scrape of their shoe.

Birch may of been at the club for a few years, but he only does the PA on a Matchday! Who cares ..??? To be honest he has been getting on my tits ever since the first game I went to!

I remember sitting in the main stand at filbo when I was 10 years old, looking down at Birch at Half time thinking 'Who the hell is that nob head'

About sodding time the got rid of him, that Winston Churchill thing was the last straw.

Barton... for once.... I AGREE!!

It was pathetic.

No need to keep slating him mate, youve made your point

you didnt answer my question....

Well what was that?

I think it's absolutely pathetic our fans want to go out and protest to stop our PA guy Birch from being sacked!

I suppose these are the same people who wanted to protest to keep Henry the horn man!!!!

Thanks Birch & Henry but goodbye I say!!

Right, I want to protest against the burger seller being sacked last week!

Seriously, thats a bit unfair on the guy. If you were asked to write the first 20 words that came into your head associated with Leicester City, I bet birch would be on most peoples' lists. As would the post horn gallop.

Seeing as we don't even know the FACTS yet your persistent slating of the guy is out of place. You're entitled to your opinion but you should be able to recognise that he is a valuable part of what this club stands for, no matter how much he earns, what desk he sits at, how many hours he works, or how cheesy some of his comments are. Unless this has occured through some kind of serious misconduct, and assuming it actually happened he does not deserve this kind of treatment.

If what is being said is true then it stretches further than the Birch kids. Firslty his PA things are quite annoying yes but that is not all he does. He has been serving our club for years and at least deserves bit better. The point is that people are losing their jobs without a care from anyone on the board. It is also interesting to see how Kelly at al were so angry at these stories. To you he may just be the PA bloke but it clearly has unsettled the club and the team.

Obviously we have to be careful with what is being said and whether to believe it. I can't see why it would of been made up. If it is true then it is a serious issue that needs to be treated better than idiots arguing on a forum about the guy on at half time.

We need traditions, we need our memories, that is what makes our club so special and unique.

We lost our spiritual home, we became the most hated club in the country through admin, La Manga, etc. While I hate people looking bcak at previos glories and believing we have the god give right to do well, we can look back fondly at them, giving us asperations to do well again. Our club is special our club is LCFC and without the traditions and histories, LCFC dissapears.

Bring bcak the birch and Henry for that matter

If anyone deserves the title of 'nob head' I think it should be you. He doesn't just do the PA on matchday as you keep on saying. He's at the training ground most days. He's a good character to have around the training ground especially when things aren't going too well on the pitch. He's always got time for the fans. My mates went down to Belvoir Drive once and the players weren't training outside that day, Birch took them on a tour of the training ground to make sure they hadn't had a wasted journey. He tries to organise presents for supporters as you may have seen him in the stands before home games (if you actually attend matches). He's enhanced the image of our club as an important part of the community with his charity runs. When he hands over £1,000 to a charity he is representing LCFC and this must improve the way that charity views our club.

Jankers, are your mum and dad from Mountsorrel then as that was where the Birch was living last time I heard?

This shows you know absolutley nothing about LCFC. The Birch is at the training ground every single day!! I believe HE is one of the main reasons for the Leicester team spirit over the last 15 years!!! Leicester, especially the training ground is one of the friendliest in the country and it is staff like the Birch (including Doris the tea-lady) that keep it that way. Does it not tell you something most of our ex-player still keep in contact with the Birch including Walsh, Izzet, Savage etc. He keeps the injured player amused in their time of need (Morris and Jones especially!!) Also he is an important go between between players (first team and youth) and the club!! It was Birch that the player went too to get Kelly to be the new manager, an if the Ipswitch rumours are true, do you think the players would do that for a club secretary!???

Before you do make statements like this please get your facts correct!!

Phew rant over....

Look Pube Fox,

What an absolute load of guff! We all know Birch is responsible for the two league cups, our premiership success, couple of promotions!

If we keep Birch we could win the champions league next year, we'll probably win the world cup as well

mic birch does alot of work in the community representing the club, most fans like his humour, you dont, fair enough but dont take so much pleasure at the thought of someone being sacked it shows you to be a complete and total septic bellend

Have you got ANYTHING constructive to say at all? Or are you basically a Derby fan?

I didn't say responsible for our sucess, just spirit and ethos of the club generally. We have had 7 managers since Little and still we have a good team spirit in the training camp. One common factor is the Birch. Whether you like the bloke or not is immaterial, it is what the players think and from the sound of it they all like and respect him!!!

Right, I don't like Birch so that makes me a Derby fan?

Whatever !

reading this thread id say it does make you sound a bit of a saddo.

bartonfox and one or two others posted their veiws and left it at that but you just cant stop

well said (about the nob head bit)

And YES my folks still live on Halstead Rd, and myself and all my brothers were brought up there, I left about 18 years ago, but I went to Christchuch, and St Peters..which is now flats I believe and I even used to have to file down to the "temperance hall" for School dinners, (now also flats near to the butter market!

Ah them were the days when Sorrel was rough and not the middle class gentrified suburban regenerated sprealing mass of BMWs it is today! If someone had told me that fotty players would end up living in Sorrel when I was a kid...I would have bared my arse on the Butter market steps!
