Manwell Pablo Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 That's almost Akinbiyi and Benjamin Mark II are they both of 5 year deals at £20k a week? Its actually worse as Ade managed 3 by himself in that season he was awful.
Manwell Pablo Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 The whole side is dodgy. We got rid of loads of players, and made 13 signings since promotion. Out of those 13 signings, at best one or two of those would now get in our strongest side. We havent just stood still since getting promoted, we have gone backwards. Cat in hell's chance of promotion next year, bit like yourselves. I dunno, as we have said, Whitehead & Arca aint that bad, I think Hoyte has given a fairly good account of himself. Although your are the Sunderland fan I Suppouse and I suppouse if you look at the table you are the worst team the premier league has ever seen, maybe they are all duffers.

It's their strikers though, not one of them is even remotely premiership class and that's why they cannot buy a draw or win. Le Tallec is a decent enough player but he's never going to be prolific even in a good side. Been very disappointed with Stephen Elliott, thought he was destined to haunt Man City after they let him go for 100k but he hasn't done anything. Although he has suffered alot of injuries this season.

Been very disappointed with Stephen Elliott, thought he was destined to haunt Man City after they let him go for 100k but he hasn't done anything. Although he has suffered alot of injuries this season. Thats been our biggest problem. Our strikers' strike rate this year is as follows: Jon Stead 0 goals in 24 games. Steven Elliott 2 goals in 14 games. Kevin Kyle 0 goals in 6 games. Andy Gray 1 goals in 22 games. Chris Brown 0 goals in 4 games. Daryl Murphy 1 goal in 13 games. Anthony Le Tallec 4 goals in 24 games. Thats a total from our strikers of 8 goals in 107 games. A strike rate of one goal every 13 games. You cant hope to stay up with that sort of record. Elliott is unproven because he has been played out of position and has been injured a lot. Id still back him to be a Premiership player. Le Tallec has everything it takes apart from any sort of commitment at all. The rest arent good enough, and never will be. Oh, and the centre of our midfield and defence is a bit cr*p as well.
Ric Flair Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 didn't he play for liverpool?? That's John Welsh who is now at Hull. Taylor loves him and often picks John Welsh for the under 21's even though he's turned out to be crap.
Leicfox Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Got alot of m8's who are Sunderland fans, when i ask them all wot he's like, all have replied...... IN A WORD...... SHITE
Leicester_Mad Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I have a Stockport fan as a mate and he was gutted when Welsh left so he must be a half decent player. Looked good at Sunderland from what i have seen of highlights too
Lichfieldfox. Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Quite fitting on St Davids Day ay Odd one, born in England, played for Scotland and named Welsh!! And can't get into the worst side the premiership has seen each week. Still can't be worse than Tiatto (except for his performo vs Leeds)
Ajax Treesdown Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I see there is plenty of negativity, even before the lad has kicked a ball for us. Good work.
Nationwider Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 He's a good player whose natural level at the moment is probably the Championship. Competition for places at the moment is no bad thing, so fair play to RK for showing a bit of imagination.
Nationwider Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 I'm not sure, but I remember Sunderland's left winger having a good game against us at the SoL last season in the 2-1 defeat. I can't remember if it was him - I suspect it was.
davieG Posted 1 March 2006 Posted 1 March 2006 Any player that we are in a position to sign, especially one playing in the Premier or the Championship is unlikely to be hailed by all as the 'perfect footballer' for his position, if he was he wouldn't be coming to us would he? Also players perform differently in different situations, with new players, manager, environment, support if they get any.
