I also heard it'll be an ex Leicester player. So that wouldnt be Gary Mac he's a Scot, i hope it is though that would be perfect.

I have a feeling it could be Steve Walsh for some reason. I can't think of an english assistant that has played for the club and has experience.

Newell no chance.
Cobbo Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 After Cottee's record? Oooeeer, it's as bad as they come really... He said it'll be someone with experience in this division....so I thought Gary Mac until just reading about the appointment being an English bloke...
Carlo Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 I would like to see someone with a connection to Leicester coming in some capacity even if it's just a bit of light coaching with the kids Gary Mccallister Steve Walsh Matt Jones whoever would fit this bill although they may have little or no experience but every new coach or manager needs a start

Carlo Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 If Matt Jones gets back on the training ground he'd soon be injured and be crippled for life! I was speaking metaphorically!!!!
Leicester_Mad Posted 30 October 2004 Posted 30 October 2004 heard its gonna be claridge. He also fits the bill for English and former player...
Louise Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 From givemefootball.com: HOUSTON SET TO REJOIN LEVEIN Hearts assistant coach Peter Houston insists his impending move to join Craig Levein at Leicester City will not be compromised by the midland club´s proposed appointment of an English assistant manager at the Walkers Stadium. Levein moved south from Tynecastle on Friday and although Houston is currently holding the fort in Gorgie, he will link up with the ex-Jambos boss in the next couple of days. However, it has emerged that Leicester have targeted one of their former players, who is currently an academy coach at a Barclaycard Premiership club, to also work alongside Levein. link

Hoof Fox Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 I hadnt thought of McKinlay think he may well be too inexperienced. Also Levein doesnt know the person on a personal level, didnt he play with McKinlay for Scotland. I thought it might be Kevin MacDonald because I think he is an academy coach at Villa. Does anybody know of any other ex players who are currently academy coaches.

City Fan Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 Why doesn't someone with lots of time, look through all the premiership club websites, write down all the academy coaches, and see if they are ex Leicester players! This should give us more of a clue!
City Fan Posted 31 October 2004 Posted 31 October 2004 Maybe. But I thought he was a goalkeeping coach at Man City. The only one I can think of is Billy Mac!
