I wanna kick some heads in...

I wanna running riot

I'm feeling loud and proud

Ready for a fight - LET'S GO!

Street punk from Brooklyn, buys himself a box of matches

Straps the 'ol chain, dirty trousers, ripped t-shirt and leather jacket

Billy's on his way, say's he's gonna burn the state

Gonna burn 'em down - it's alright - burn baby burn

An outcast from Queens with an 8 ball in a sock

Gonna fight in boot n'braces, cuffed jeans and a fresh #2 crop

Jimmy's on a rage, someone's gonna have to pay

Gonna set em straight - it's alright - go Jimmy go!

Someone's going down tonight - they're going down!

Gonna get their heads kicked in

Gonna burn em down - gonna burn em down

Gonna shake the government

Can you feel the rush?

Can you hear us shout - let's go!

Gonna show them politicians what we're all about

I wanna kick some heads in - well it's alright!

I wanna running riot - well it's alright!

I'm feeling loud and proud - well it's alright!

I'm ready for a fight - well it's alright!

Does anyone else feel like fighting and causing trouble some of the time?

And it all went quiet in the city

And the wind blew down the road

Someone cried out "Subvert"

And the people all went cold

Subvert, subvert, subvert, SUBVERT

Meanwhile back in Subvert City

Someone's writing on the wall

"fock the government" spray-paint hero

Someone wants the state to fall

Religious dogma crucified

Ritual slaughter, no one lied

Living standards were dying morals

A state-controlled mass suicide

The dying breed of Subvert City

Crept into the underground

The state police just left them there

Blocked the holes, and gassed them down

Ten years later they emerged

Mutated minds so full of hate

Tried again to change the system

But this time round it was too late

There was no system left to change

The people ran the entire land

The subverts became politicians

And finally got the upper hand

Meanwhile back in Subvert City

Someone's writing on the wall

"fock the government" spray-paint hero

But in Subvert City, it's subvert rule

Subvert, subvert, subvert, SUBVERT

Then Maggie O'Connor took up the job

"O Biddy," says she, "You're wrong, I'm sure"

Biddy she gave her a belt in the gob

And left her sprawlin' on the floor.

And then the war did soon engage

'Twas woman to woman and man to man,

Shillelagh law was all the rage

And a row and a ruction soon began!

I thought I could hear the curious tone

of the cornet, clarinet and big trombone

fiddle, cello, big bass drum

bassoon, flute and euphonium

far away as in a trance

I heard the sound of the floral dance

As I walked home on a summer night

the stars in heaven were shining bright

far away from the footlights glare

into the sweet and scented air

of a quaint old Cornish town

That's lovely, but not really in the sprit of the thread lol

I'm better now btw ;)

P.S Finnegan's wake, good song

I've always been fond of this 'un:

Here in the trenches the fist of the Beast

For fear of an atmosphere, poisoned deceased

With a gas mask to keep me-from breathing my death

It's American soil I hope for at best

But the duty I serve can't begin to compare

To my ancestors battles and wars throught the years

Though the loneliness strikes like an enemy shell

I pray for my home but still sit here in hell

chorus: Sail away to a place that's unkown

Taken away from my friends and my home to a place they call sacred

A place I call hell

I long for that corner I once knew so well

Go to the grind it's all that I have

Work on and on with nothing to show

But a graying face in this dying place

Thats a lock in my solitude

I think of a place on a faraway coast

Where friends are so dear and there's reason to toast

A cloudy dark image of a Middle East land

Comes down and wrecks my hopeful thoughts

chorus

Here in the trenches the fist of the Beast

For fear of an atmosphere, poisoned deceased

With a gas mask to keep me-from breathing my death

It's American soil I hope for at best

But the duty I serve can't begin to compare

To my ancestors battles and wars throught the years

Though the loneliness strikes like an enemy shell

I pray for my home but still sit here in hell.

Nope, but I though to myself ~ 'now there are some sad boys who might like cheering up'

And then I thought ~ 'and what could be nicer than the Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band with that nice Mr Terry Wogan?'

...but if you really want words of violence then I guess JCC said it best when, and I quoth he:

Outside the take-away, Saturday night

a bald adolescent, asks me out for a fight

He was no bigger than a two-penny fart

he was a deft exponent of the martial art

He gave me three warnings:

Trod on me toes, stuck his fingers in my eyes

and kicked me in the nose

A rabbit punch made me eyes explode

My head went dead, I fell in the road

I pleaded for mercy

I wriggled on the ground

he kicked me in the balls

and said something profound

Gave my face the millimetre tread

Stole me chop suey and left me for dead

Through rivers of blood and splintered bones

I crawled half a mile to the public telephone

pulled the corpse out the call box, held back the bile

and with a broken index finger, I proceeded to dial

I couldn’t get an ambulance

the phone was screwed

The receiver fell in half

it had been kung fu’d

A black belt karate cop opened up the door

demanding information about the stiff on the floor

he looked like an extra from Yang Shang Po

he said “What’s all this then

ah so, ah so, ah so.â€Â

he wore a bamboo mask

he was gen’ned on zen

He finished his devotions and he beat me up again

Thanks to that embryonic Bruce Lee

I’m a shadow of the person that I used to be

I can’t go back to Salford

the cops have got me marked

Enter the Dragon

Exit Johnny Clarke

Nothing suffocates you more than

The passing of everyday human events

Isolation is the oxygen mask you make

Your children breath in to survive

I'm not a slave to a god

That doesn't exist

I'm not a slave to a world

That doesn't give a shit

And when we were good

You just closed your eyes

So when we are bad

We'll scar your minds

Fight x8

You'll never grow up to be a big -

Rock - star - celebrated - victim - of - your - fame

They'll just cut our wrists like

Cheap coupons and say that death

Was on sale today

And when we were good

You just closed your eyes

So when we are bad

We'll scar your minds

But I'm not a slave to a god

That doesn't exist

But I'm not a slave to a world

That doesn't give a shit

The death of one is a tragedy x3

But the death of millions is just a statistic

I'm not a slave to a god

That doesn't exist

I'm not a slave to a world

That doesn't give a shit

I'm not a slave to a god

That doesn't exist

I'm not a slave to a world

That doesn't give a shit

Fight x8

It's getting late have you seen my mates

Ma tell me when the boys get here

It's seven o'clock and I want to rock

Want to get a belly full of beer

My old man's drunker than a barrel full of monkeys

And my old lady she don't care

My sister looks cute in her braces and boots

A handful of grease in her hair

Don't give us none of your aggravation

We had it with your discipline

Saturday night's alright for fighting

Get a little action in

Get about as oiled as a diesel train

Gonna set this dance alight

`Cause Saturday night's the night I like

Saturday night's alright alright alright

Well they're packed pretty tight in here tonight

I'm looking for a dolly who'll see me right

I may use a little muscle to get what I need

I may sink a little drink and shout out "She's with me!"

A couple of the sound that I really like

Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike

I'm a juvenile product of the working class

Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass

When We Were Young by Whipping Boy

When we were young nobody died

And nobody got older

The toughest kid in the street

Could always be bought over

And the first time that you loved

You had all your life to give

At least that's what you said

The first time you got drunk

You drank pernod and dry cider

Smashed a window in as the police came round the corner

You didn't have no time to run

And your dad stood up for you

As the judge said you're a fool

Babies, sex and flagons, shifting women, getting stoned

Robbing cars, bars and pubs, rubber johnnies, poems

Starsky and Hutch gave good TV

And Starsky looked like me

The first time that you stole

You stole rubber lips and tenners

Bought a radio then ran away for ever

Never felt so good, never felt so good with you

When we were young we had no fear

Of love nor sex nor warnings

Everyone was hanging out, everyone was sorted

When we were young nobody knew

Who you were or what you'd do

Nobody had a past that catches up on you

Babies, sex and flagons, shifting women, getting stoned

Robbing cars, bars and pubs, rubber johnnies, poems

Starsky and Hutch gave good TV

And Starsky looked like me

What might have been

What might have been

What might have been

With a start he was awoken

From the middle of a dream

He's making movies in his head

That never will be seen

He's holding Oscars in his hands

And kissing beauty queens

What might have been

What might have been

When we were young

(Chorus)Riot! Riot!, riot crossed this land

In pork pie hats and denim masks and furious knife clutched hands,

It was a bank holiday for languages lost

Being armed to the teeth to face this curse

If you’ve always used establishment

We’ve always used piss off to change the intonation in this verse

As curlew dies and structures burn laid barren as then night falls

Wandering zombies smoldering from the top

See their dead in our burned out halls

(Chorus – 2 x)

When all is done special branch comes through

With police finish off the rest of the best

Evacuated barren and I now know who’s dead

As parliament wakes and yawns deep from the chest

Well, and the sun burns up the night

And the boot heels click

And the engines burn and John Major gets sick

And American soldiers station themselves

Round Serbian oil wells

And four course five star dinners down by the wakening church’s bells

(Chorus – 4x)

Well, we don’t believe this way has worked

We’ll burn down this mind set

Burning all your American illusions up

We’ll show you what, where and when we’re at

Well, almost everyone knows what homelessness is

And everyone know ‘bout death

And you can’t give morals onto either one,

Or justify it or come back and say it was worth the test

Well, when you give death – you get death back

That’s the way the cycle works

Well, when you’ve taken - you get things taken from you

That’s situational, that’s your friends

you’ve kept while doing the dirt

(Chorus – 2x)

Riot! Riot! Riot! Riot!

Angry motherfocking song. :D Mad Riot by the Tossers, if you like Finnegan's Wake it's a must.
