You've always been a fine catch, Jankington.

Just watched it. One of the most harrowing films I have ever seen. If anything argues for the stupidity of religious belief systems it's this film. Brilliantly made it pretty much happened like the way its shown, I should have thought.

Religion is the root of all evil.

Not a religious person myself but the basis of a religion I thought would be good. It's the belief that a higher being can tell Mankibd how to live their lives and who should live and who should die that is evil. We all come into this world the same way. Sperm plus egg. No mystery just nature. There may be different colours or gene combinations but that again is nature. If only certain groups would just see this instead of thinking that they are expected to do more than love thy neighbour.

I don't think even B.Liar would, or could, say that 9/11 was the "worst human atrocity of all time." It was clearly the worst terrorist atrocity (killing the most people), but there is a list as long as your or anybody's arm for the worst atrocity, namely:

6 m Jews gassed by the Nazis

5 million non-Jews died in the holocaust. Why is it that people usually quote the same statistic as you have, and don't just say 11 million people died in the holocaust? It seems as though people don't even realize that there were plenty of goyim in the gas chambers alongside the chosen people.

Religion is evil?

Too the film, i watched it last night, alongside a screaming baby. why would an asian couple take a 2 year old to watch united 93?????? education?

this was not your run of the mill film, no hollywood acting, well very very little, you probably wont recognise any of the cast either.

its about the passengers on flight 93 that crashed into the ground in pennsylvania, not far from draculars gaff :P

it started by showing us 4 arab looking men (neither wore a beard or rags on their head) getting ready for war in their hotle room.

then for most of the next millenium ;) all you saw was the control rooms of aiport and military finding out why planes arnt going where they should, or vanishing, realising what was happening seeing planes hit buildings, and the american government blowing them up and others.

but what happened in the control rooms, is what happened that fatefull day, 9/11/2001.

the terrorists were situated at the front of the plane (first class, why not if your about to blow yourself up), with another 5 or so people, and about 50 in standard class. 50 mins before flight 93 crashed, the 4 terrorist highjackers decided to take over the plane. one chap went to the loo to attach a fake bomb to his chest, then when he went back to his seat, it kicked off, he immediately stabbed in the throat the passenger infront of him, before another guy grabbed a stewardess from behind (if only this was emmanuel in bangkock) :D

after the initial panick, reasonable calm set in and the passengers were wondering wtf was going on. they realised the bomb was fake, plus word got through about 2 planes crashing into the twin towers, they all realised this plane was going down, and they were going down with it, unless they could stop them?

so they gathered some tools, found 2 guys who could fly abit, and charged at the highjackers, the first terrorist got a right hammering, and the cinema audience were shouting "kill him, kill him", well i was anyway :D

it wasnt long before the meanie terrorist was attacked and his neck brocken (should've cut it off, thats what they do to us), that left the other 2 in the cockpit. with the door closed, the passengers pushed a trolly at it untill they broke in, by which time the terrorist pilot thought f-it, were going down now being 20mins from the whitehouse target.

Unfortunately, the passengers couldnt force the pilot from heading to earth at 500 miles per hour, and BOOM.

standard price is £6.20, not a bargain, even for me whose interested in 9/11.

there was a documentary on channel 4 not so long ago, which pretty much showed the same thing.

If you were thinking about a career as a film reviewer I'd throw the towel in now. I'm pretty certain all those who died in the real crash would be happy with a price of £6.20 for a trip to the movies.

Why, do you think those that died are now the living dead ;)

United Airlines 93 never really crashed in Shanksville, PA. It either landed in Cleveland, Ohio, or was shot down by American fighter jets. Plus, it is highly unlikely that the cell phone calls did take place, certainly not at that altitude. And I heard some of those taped messages in a movie recently: the one steward on board sounded way too calm. All that you can see in Shanksville is not a crater caused by a plane crash, but a dug-out hole with no debris around it at all. ;)

I guess it's a good movie entertainment-wise, but that's about it.

Evidence, proof, Inspector Clousseau.

If it landed what happened to the passengers, pilot, crew?

As for craters and holes, do you have links to pictures?

In the film the cell phones were being used in descent, the plane phone was used at first. Stewards are trained to be calm. Jesus, you should see the way they handle me when I can't get another helping of that lovely airplane food.

Clearly you don't do irony.

Are we twins :D

Swiss, who knows why the american military "didnt?" take more than 50mins to get there, particuly as the plane changed direction and headed for the whitehouse.

you know, this whole 9/11 conspiracy theory that the american government didnt co-stage 9/11 is taking off. im reading all sorts of US government appologists deny the facts.

I'm with you there - if any religion appealed to me then its the peace and tranquility of Buddism.

Read "The Yes Man", not even a good finger poking could rile the buddist monk.

Do what you would be done by to. Say please and thank you, open doors for everyone and smile. Life really shouldn't be complicated should it? All everyone wants to do is be liked.

Or is that just me?

In this alienated consumerist age, Buddhism has been packaged to gullible Westerners as being all about peace and tranquility.

In WWII it was packaged to the Japanese quite differently, and was the religion of Hirohito's immensely brutal regime. If Islam has to take responsibilty for suicide bombers then we cannot ignore the role of Buddhism in brainwashing Kamikaze pilots.

Gullible? Me? Oh well, ok, but only as long as it is willful gullability.

I do not believe that Islam has to take responsibility for the suicide bombers, why should it? Likewise, Buddhism is not responsible for brainwashing - and I'd be grateful for your sources that may prove me wrong.

The fundemental tenant of buddhism is to end all kinds of suffering in life - and as aims go it's not bad.

Went to see the film last night. Was alright. I would probably watch it again, the build up was virtually non-existant and it just went straight into it which I was quite surprised with but overall it was an alright film. 7/10.

It was shot down by a white unmarked plane (name of it escapes me at the minute),Back in 2001 it was very rare to recieve phone reception at high altitude so don't think the phone calls were real, Also if engine parts of a plane can be found 8 miles away & the official story is "The wind blew it there" then there is a few gullible people out there
