Craig Posted 5 July 2006 Posted 5 July 2006 Mine was dispatched today, should be interesting to see if Swifty was lying or not when he said that the advertised version of the shirt ain't the final version, and the silly A&L block is sorted out. Hopefully it'l be here tomorrow
Coxy Posted 5 July 2006 Posted 5 July 2006 well it's in shops on July 7th if i remember right, so if it aint much trouble and you get it tomorrow would it be any trouble to post pics?

Ricey Posted 5 July 2006 Posted 5 July 2006 Craig, could you post some pictures of the shirt when you get it? The shirt used for the photo shirt was definatley not the final version, it's a case of whether the final shirt looks good enough.

Well if they've made the shirts now, why aren't there players modelling that one? Surely it'd sell more?
Ricey Posted 5 July 2006 Posted 5 July 2006 Well if they've made the shirts now, why aren't there players modelling that one? Surely it'd sell more? No idea, you'd have to ask Ben Swift that. They are hoping that people will go to the clubshop and see the shirt for themselves.
Craig Posted 5 July 2006 Author Posted 5 July 2006 No idea, you'd have to ask Ben Swift that. They are hoping that people will go to the clubshop and see the shirt for themselves. So in theory, the shirt should definately look better than in those pics?
Ricey Posted 5 July 2006 Posted 5 July 2006 So in theory, the shirt should definately look better than in those pics? In theory yes. But as much as they may of altered the colour of the transfer, due to the transfer being shinier it might never look right.
Ricey Posted 5 July 2006 Posted 5 July 2006 From another forum: The new shirt was delivered today, and I have tried it on, very nice shirt, but:I am not sure what TD said to you all but, * The Alliance and Leicester logo does stand out as it is a diferent colour blue and feels very plastic like. * The pin-stripes are only on the front not on the back. * The shorts are about 2 inches longer at the back than they are at the front. We also had the new Goalkeeper shirt delivered which is absolutely disgusting. Bottle green with a weird grey collar. Ben Swift said that the shorts were a mistake, maybe they are meant to be longer at the back but just not as long as in the pictures. Disapointed to hear about the AL logo, I don't see why they didn't just used the same type of technique as before. Transfers with a background will always look odd because they shine where as the shirt doesn't.

FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 6 July 2006 Posted 6 July 2006 People seem to think we are the only club operating on a one year cycle! Everton, Aresenal, Wigan, Coventry, etc all operate a similar system.

Can this thread not go into another - "we all hate 1 year kit cycle" thread! Please Please Please. I only mentioned it tongue in cheek!!
Ricey Posted 6 July 2006 Posted 6 July 2006 We'll see what it's like tomorrow. I'm not optimistic tho. Why isn't the back pinstriped ...to be honest I think it would look crap with the backs pin-striped, it would be overkill.
