Ultra Posted 27 July 2006 Posted 27 July 2006 Is there beer available at half time? I wanted to have a few beers before the game but it would seem to early! No.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 July 2006 Posted 27 July 2006 I don't want to go anymore Yeah know how you feel, I was thinking about going. the minute I herd the game was on sky I had to reinput all the data into my "shall i go to this game" formula. Early Morning X Little drinking + Lutons a shit hole *XA (~) £21.50 a ticket + Expensive train tickets/ Comfortable Pub with Beer = Saving enough money for first two home games of the Season.

Well it's only 20mins drive down the M1 for me plus I'm not driving. I guess if I get up at 6am I can start drinking around 11am!! Or I wait until I get home? I don’t think there has been any other reason for me to go Luton apart from this game and the airport in the last 15 years.

Wils Posted 27 July 2006 Posted 27 July 2006 I don't want to go anymore Go to the pub before the game should be open at eleven
Master Fox Posted 27 July 2006 Posted 27 July 2006 Go to the pub before the game should be open at eleven It better bloody be open! I was kind of hoping it might be open for 10am though?
Daggers Posted 27 July 2006 Posted 27 July 2006 We parked in Sainsbury's last year for £5, Luton is a crap place to get in an out of traffic wise. Which can also be summed up with the pithy phrase Luton is a crap place

Master Fox Posted 28 July 2006 Posted 28 July 2006 anybody know how tickets have been selling for this , thinking of going down saturday Probably quite a few have been sold, I would ring the ticket office if you want to go

Ultra Posted 30 July 2006 Posted 30 July 2006 In the region of 300 - 400 tickets there selling quite fast! I hope we manage to sell our allocation, even if the game is on TV. It would look pretty poor of us if we didn't...
Wils Posted 30 July 2006 Posted 30 July 2006 I hope we manage to sell our allocation, even if the game is on TV. It would look pretty poor of us if we didn't... I reckon we will, should do for first game and its not too far to travel for most people

Fosse_KC Posted 31 July 2006 Posted 31 July 2006 I had the dubious pleasure of living and working in Luton for almost 6 years - managed to escape at the end of March this year to the glorious Oxfordshire countryside. Anyhow, Luton is indeed a crap place, parking near the ground is nigh impossible except at the Sainsburys as already mentioned. If you go by train yon can stop at The George pub next to the train station - a favourite drinking hole of mine when I lived there. I went to the game last season when still living in Luton - drank in the George and had a Police escort to the match, my only encounter with the old Bill while I lived there! If you are driving I'll warn you now, there are massive roadworks on the M1 just South of Luton due to the widening project, so there is likely to be delays as you get past Toddington services and get nearer to Luton.
john_lcfc Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 where is everyone planning on going ie in the ground as its unreserved.. over to the right or over to the left etc? im undecided due to last years experiance

PAULCFC Posted 1 August 2006 Posted 1 August 2006 Went last year and going again this.I was lucky last year as my sister in law lived in luton and parked on her drive. If your struggling for parking there's loads of street parking if you drive up the hill near the ground.only takes about 10 mins to get to the ground from there{20 mins getting back as it's quite steep!}.Can also recomend the chippy on the corner near the away end.
