I personally think Ade is better but not for the money we payed. At least Ade can score more than Connolly in this division.

Solihullfox Posted 3 December 2004 Posted 3 December 2004 When CL sorts the way that he will insist we play ie. passing football with incisive defence splitting balls from midfield you will see that David Connolly is a class act. It has not been David's fault that for the vast majority of this season we have been playing appaling football, I struggle to remember many decent passes played to him since his arrival at the club. Let's not get on his back and waste one of the few things that MA managed to get right in the last few months of his tenure at Leicester. If we 'play' tomorrow, it is quite likely that David will score!

His record at Wimbledon was immense, goal scorer in an average team.

The same amount as what Ade scored for us in the Premiership. 42872[/snapback] When adams was in charge connoly looked a great player, perhaps he stood out amongst the players who clearly had a lack of intrest, now levein has restored the pride a bit connoly seems to be getting worse as each game goes on. i hope he comes good, he plays his heart out for city and that is appreciated but how long can this go on ?? a hat-trick could just be round the corner... lets hope so

Ade's record is possibly the most apalling ever! 10 goals in 62 apps, wasnt it? As has been said, Conners played out wide for West Ham usually, and he had that row with Roeder. Connolly will come good in the end...

If we had only paid £500,00 for Ade then I am sure people wouldnt of been on his back as much as they were. Ade scored 12 in 58 in the premiership. Conners has scored 12 in 60 games, in the Championship. Thats with Leicester and Westham.
dan_84 Posted 3 December 2004 Posted 3 December 2004 i think he'd score more goals playing as the deeper striker of a front 3. he likes to come deep and pick up the ball on the half way line which is fine if there is players infront of him that he can pass to and then make another run. his movement is excellent i just feel sometimes he is left with too few options in front of him which is when he tries to do a bit too much and more than often loses the ball. cant really see CL playing with 3 up top though.
