Terror group threatens England's water

GLASGOW, Scotland, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A Scottish terrorist organization Sunday threatened to poison England's public water supply, endangering hundreds of thousands of lives.

Is it just me that finds this totally hilarious?

Idiots.

Not particularly, if the plans had been carried out we would have been buggered.

In principle, no that ain't funny one bit. If Johnny Osama was putting cyanide in my Ribena - in the short time i had left - I'd be worried. But the scotish liberation army? Sounds like a bunch of lunatics to me.

Hmm. I've not slept since their well-publicised and successful letter bomb attempt on Princess Diana in 1983.

It's easy to see how trying to blow up probably the most well-loved and popular female figure ever in British history would endear them and their plucky cause to our hearts.

It's ironic that they should try to poison our water when they've been bottling and selling us expensive spring water for years.

On a lighter note, I had a can on Irn Bru for the first time in years last week. Still tastes good.

It is quite pathetic really but it does annoy me a little, especially with living up here. The Scots bleat on & on if we make even the tiniest comment about them, but they seem to think that its perfectly ok to be openly racist towards us.

It's a sign of the times i'm afriad........Britians inability to handle or curb radicals for many years has lead to a 'free' invitation of allsorts threatening our lands and making demands!!!! :(

Terror threats have been made for a while now against England, and I don't see them dying out any time soon. Whilst Blair is in office, and is loved up to Bush, England will be involved in every matter on foreign soils, and so we will all be held responsible as if we all support it.

Pally with US or not pally with US.. we will still be a major target for terrorists.

Just imo, and a lot of other peoples, being such a close ally to the US makes us a bigger target than what we would be if we were more distant on foreign matters from the US. However, even if we end relations with America in the future, mud sticks, and we will always be remembered as part of the coalition forces, making many a terrorist want to harm us

Exactly.

I shouldn't laugh really. Clearly, whoever sent The Times that email is seriously mentally ill.

But it's just so absurd. For a start Scotland hasn't been oppressed by the English for many centuries. They have no need for a 'liberation' army, especially as the Scottish and European parliaments erode the influence of Westminster north of the border to almost nil.

And their history is highly suspect, too. Joining the UK is by far the best thing ever to happen to Scotland. Cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh became hugely prosperous on the back of the British Empire. The SNLA say they will only attack the English but the fact is that throughout history the Welsh have stood side-to-side with us against the Scots.

What really amuses me is the scale of the planned attacks. The worst terrorist attacks on British soil claimed just over fifty lives, yet these non-entities are to kill hundreds of thousands. It's a bit like Basingstoke Town suddenly announcing that within six or seven years they will win the European Cup.

i can't take it very seriously, surely they must realise that their own people would be at just as much risk , its a hollow drum boast

Terrorists care not for any people, most of them don't even care for themselves. And besides, if terrorists cared for people, they wouldn't be terrorists in the first place.

yes ,sad but true , good point

Really do not see the point in terrorism, it creates more problems and conflicts than it actually solves. And I hate the fact that some mindless people seem to think it is a good thing and encourage it, even though they live/aim to move here

Yep, hang 'em for treason!

Yep, hang 'em for treason!

Then you'd get the human rights brigade crusading against us for being unlawful and unfair, and taking people's human rights away from them. Also, it would further enrage terrorists and extremists, making them more determined than ever to attack us. Seriously, this idiotic behaviour will never finish, it's just going to be an ongoing problem which will last until they get what they so desperately crave.
