fantastic_mr_fox Posted 12 September 2006 Posted 12 September 2006 I think the "progress" the club has made since the trust has gained this "power" ,of which it so openly flaunts this evening, is a key indication to the type of people who currently frequent the padded seats...and their "success" in running this football club (into the ground) check out the attendances this season...point proved.
BartonFox Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Some first class ****wittery people keep it up You know who you are
l444ry Posted 13 September 2006 Author Posted 13 September 2006 We aren't negative about this option, we are open minded but would want a full understanding of any bidders plans & financial backing. Some fans seem to think MM would role in with a big fat cheque book, suggest they review Pompey's progress through a number of seasons. Why you take this superior self important attitude I'll never know. Do you honestly think City fans would want Mandaric in without properly checking out his intentions? And why do you assume we wouldn't expect hiccups before we improved? We are not all as stupid as you would like to think we are. It's all very well coming on here dismissing everything but your organisation never offers anything other than the status-quo.
The People's Hero Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Look, if you want to spend your days kissing MM's arse, go to Fratton Park. Leave this board to proper City fans, who actually still care enough to go to games! You're a right tw at.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Barrel of laughs in here isn't it! As for supporters thinking Mandaric would come in with a barrel of money and bankroll instant promotion, maybe not but he wouldn't let the club sink into financial ruin, he'd stabilise it first.
The People's Hero Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 This always deteriorates in to oneupmanship and who's the better fan.. and the person who always starts throwing the sh it is Ultra. What a coo nt. You're right though Fezz. I just get the feeling the club don't want the investment. Self preservation is the name of the game on that board.
eaststandtom Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 who in their right mind is going to invest money in a club that is still in massive debt with £20 million still to pay off on their ground? the current board cant do anything but try and find a mug willing to invest. this is our lot for the time being and it could be a long time

The People's Hero Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Don't worry about anything Ultra says mate, he's a right cock and most people think so.
brownfox Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 whoever does invest if it's MM or any other investor we are desperate. The board need to do more in finding some investment as they can't invest themselves. i believe Saddam's got a few hidden millions! if your reading come on Saddam have a heart!
SydneyFC Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 It just makes me think... Why didn't mum and dad stay in England?
London_Fox Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 The point wasn't self importance - it was that fans have ploughed more into the clubs shares than David Wilson......or Gary Lineker ... or former chairman John Holmes. Therefore in shareholding terms we have a bigger say (as in voting %) than they do I've never been the most vocal critic of the Foxes Trust because I like the idea but am not convinced by what they've done. However if you are going to post on here about how much you have in terms of shares, voting and therefore power then don't you also need to take some responsibility for our situation? You can't have it both ways. The point isn't MM (or anyone else) and whether or not they would bankroll us to Champions League glory in 3 seasons...the point is do the board care more about their position as members of the board or about the football club? If the answer is genuinly the latter then they should be looking to find investment the whole time (not just when times are crap) and if that means someone better, more competent and who will invest more takes their place then so be it. LCFC is not THEIR business like a traditional company would be...

Lester LXXIV Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Don't worry.... they're going to be working hard on the training ground. Sounds familiar. Well I hope the training ground has floodlights cos they're gonna be out there night and day!
Head Honcho Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 I'm fed up with having to stop reading half way through threads just to point out someone elses stupidity. Myhill made several fantastic saves this evening and Fryatt should of had a fuking hat trick. We were no world beaters but is that actually one of the worst performance you've seen in 35 years? NO NO it's not. It's not even the worst I've seen this season . ...........but that doesn't make any of us feel any better

LCFC is not THEIR business like a traditional company would be... Members of the current board owe their status to their links with some of the most powerful corporations on the planet (Pepsi and McDonalds). It's not unreasonable to enquire whether they could have made more use of those links to bring extra finance into the club.
BartonFox Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Members of the current board owe their status to their links with some of the most powerful corporations on the planet (Pepsi and McDonalds). It's not unreasonable to enquire whether they could have made more use of those links to bring extra finance into the club. And still the catering at Castle Greyskull is bollocks. So one has to ask the question what the f'ck do they bring to the table?
Guest Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Don't worry.... they're going to be working hard on the training ground. I'd rather they worked hard on the pitch come 3pm Saturday, to be fair.
Guest Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 The point isn't MM (or anyone else) and whether or not they would bankroll us to Champions League glory in 3 seasons... MM wants a return on his investment, and it would be in his interest to take a struggling club with potential (Portsmouth perhaps?), have it managed correctly and sell on at a profit with it a more viable, going concern. The fact he's still at Pompey seems to rankle with a few. I personally don't see it as a problem. It looks to me like he's making sure that he's not leaving the club in the lurch.
lcfc_jme Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Rather he left Pompey now regardless of their situation, and came and helped us to save ourselves. I was at one stage quite against letting Mandaric in, but now we are falling behind and cannot perform, we need something like an investment to happen.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Funny how the Mandaric thing gets dredged up again by a 1-0 defeat at home to Hull. Where was the debate after the Southend game? Our dire finances wouldn't have been affected if we'd won that game last night. Even if we'd taken our chances and won it, it's still papering over the cracks in the same way the Southend game was. From a footballing point of view, our club is treading water with the same sub-par zestless performances but the Mandaric thing only becomes less relevant if those performances improve to such a degree that we are in with a real shout of promotion. That's so laughable I can barely mention it. Our finances are ****ed, Hull defeat or not, and we need investment and stability regardless of whether we concede a goal to Michael Bridges on a Tuesday night in September or not.
lcfc_jme Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 They wouldn't, just everybody would have been in a better mood and more prepared to ignore our plight until we next lost. Myself included
Smudge Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Having just read 4 pages of frustration, anger and sometimes drivel I am drawn to ask the question, would you lot feel the same way if we had won by a goal or two?
Guest Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 Having just read 4 pages of frustration, anger and sometimes drivel I am drawn to ask the question, would you lot feel the same way if we had won by a goal or two? Exactly the same. Fez mentioned the phrase "papering the cracks". That's what a win does at the moment.
Ultra Posted 13 September 2006 Posted 13 September 2006 But the fact was that we didn't. Instead we witnessed a rerun of the dire home performances we witnessed so often under Levein and Adams. We knew Kelly was on a learning curve but we didn't expect him to be stuck for so long in the remedial class. Unless he turns it round he may well be getting a P45 for Christmas this year.
